Quit Smoking: Reasons Why You Should Abstain

How can you just quit smoking? You don’t even know how to start. One of the aspect have noticed in smokers is finding it difficult to quit smoking. Quitting smoking is difficult and it seems that no one understands this more than the many who try every day. Friends, family, acquaintances all make their best efforts so they don’t have one of those friends who are always shunning other friends for being ‘unreliable’. Why does everyone insist on quitting? I will be discussing some of the advantages of giving up smoking and why you should think about making the switch. First things first: why would you want to give up smoking in the first place?

There are many reasons to quit smoking. One of the biggest, and most obvious ones, is the fact that you’ll live longer. The elderly are incredibly susceptible to numerous health issues, many of which are greatly exacerbated by the heavy use of tobacco. If you quit smoking, you’ll have a better quality of life not only now, but also later on. It’s not a stretch to say that a longer life is a good thing. With every cigarette comes a hefty price tag that adds up quickly. If you smoke one cigarette a day, that’s around $90 over the course of a year. If you smoke 20 cigarettes a day, that’s $2,900 that you won’t have to fork over to the bank. It might not seem like a lot of money at first, but it adds up. And when you consider that a single cigarette costs around $6, the savings are even more impressive. A $6 cost for something you can’t even taste?

That’s not worth it to you anymore is it? It might seem like a difficult change to make, but once you’re used to it, it becomes easier. You might even find that you save money without even realizing it. Quitting smoking is the best way to stay healthier and get the optimum amount of nutrients from your food. Smoking depletes your body of vitamins and minerals, leaving you prone to all kinds of health issues. Vitamin deficiency, blood pressure, breathing problems and a host of other diseases are more likely to occur if you smoke.

You might be used to eating healthy and staying fit, but smoking takes it to a whole new level. Smoking makes you lose valuable nutrients, not to mention the time you’ll have to spend on cooking and eating. You have much more time to focus on your health and be as active as you want. Every minute you aren’t smoking is a minute you aren’t spending on something that’s unhealthy or isn’t something you want to be doing. Ever been told by a friend that you should give up smoking? If so, then you know the huge amount of pressure that comes with the suggestion. You might be told that you’re wasting your life, that smoking is cool, and that everyone does it. Many people feel as if they aren’t ‘normal’ until they’ve kicked their habit. They feel as if they aren’t ‘grown up’ until they stop smoking.

The truth is that smoking is a decision that restricts your freedom. You might not notice this at first, but as time goes on and you smoke less, you’ll start to notice just how much your life is different. You might not even realize it at first, but quitting can have huge implications. It’s important to remember that quitting smoking isn’t something that people expect you to just ‘do’. You’re quitting the cigarettes, but you’re still the same person you’ve always been. You might feel as if people are looking down on you, but they’re just trying to be helpful. Everyone is having to deal with the fact that you’re quitting, and they want to help you as much as possible. You might be embarrassed to ask for help, but you shouldn’t be. People want to help you, and in many cases, they’re glad that you asked. They’d rather help you than want you to fail.

Quitting smoking is the hardest thing you will ever do. If you can do it, you will feel amazing and live a much longer life. There are many health benefits to quitting smoking, such as decreased risk of heart disease, cancer, and stroke. You will also be able to save money and have more freedom. If you have tried and failed many times, don’t worry because there is hope. It might seem like a long way to go, but you will be glad you made this decision in the end.

I couldn't stress more to anyone who's just starting or is already a chain smoker to just quit smoking.

They say it relieves their mental problems, but it is selfish. Seek professional help and support, just don't do smoking. A smoker indirectly kills his/her family... and if he/she dies first, he breaks the heart and bank of those he/she is leaving. All based on first-hand experiences.

Please, readers who smoke, love and heal yourself. Love your mother, father, partner, children, and neighbors. If the government can't stop the tobacco industry, let it be you who start its industrial demise.
