The laws are just rules and are as secure as the one who programmed them into the system. But then again, the more a system becomes "smarter" the less secure the rules keeping it in check become. Rules can be broken, in any situation.

The Boston Dynamics youtube channel is a good place to see how far we are in advancements publicly.

Bicentennial Man. In this movie the robot/AI doesn't turn on people, but due to a "glitch" in its programming

This was broadcasted numerous times when we were growing up.

True and there's a lot information online expanding upon these laws and/or debunking them. Was way too much to get into it all in one go though, so that's why I kept it brief.
