CHARACTERISTIC OF THE MOON🧠 / CARACTERISTICA DE LA LUNA🌌

avatar
The beauty of the moon is incredible, I never tire of photographing it and contemplating its great brilliance, and that is that our beautiful satellite has some characteristics that few of us know, there are scientific studies and very sharp photographs of NASA that explain what each spot and crater represents in Moon! For an inexperienced eye everything is summed up in a crater but when we investigate and study in depth everything in it has a name and an explanation! Today in my post we will know the names of the craters and the seas of the moon so make yourself comfortable!😮🧠🌌

I do not know if you had knowledge but the moon is the object in space most studied by man, it is the only one that we have managed to reach, so our curiosity has increased in recent years, while technology advances we can understand more deeply which ones are the secrets that the great satellite has kept silent for millions of years! Today I personally intend to reveal some to you without having to touch the lunar soil, simply using my telescope and my camera!😨🪐

MAIN FEATURES👨‍🏫🌌/PRINCIPALES CARACTERISTICAS🪐🌍

img_1859.jpg

Well before explaining the main characteristics that distinguish the moon it is good to clarify that when they refer to "seas" astronomers do not compare it with our oceans and seas are not bodies of water, on the contrary it is rock that is composed of a material called " basalt "then you wonder why the name mares? In reality they were names placed by the oldest astronomers because from the earth they look like oceans of water, how did they appear? well it is the result of hundreds or thousands of asteroid impacts to the lunar surface!🌌🌕🌒

Everything that corresponds to the nomenclature of the parts that were identified of the moon are made in "Latin", by common sense all these characteristics exist on the exposed side of the moon! but science knows very little about the hidden side of the moon, the nomenclature of the moon is based on meteorology and atmospheric time, I will try to explain the main seas and craters!🧠🌍

This is the famous cold sea, its main characteristic is that it is very close to the north pole of the moon, another feature that stands out in the cold sea is that it has an extension of more than 1500 km if we want to achieve it we can use it as a reference point the crater "platon" that of course is named after the great philosopher!😎😨👳‍♂️

This catches our attention because it looks very prominent in the telescope and makes sense since it is the second largest on the moon, how did it originate? According to scientists it was produced by one of the largest asteroid impacts that the satellite suffered, astronomers came to the conclusion that to create such a large spot the asteroid could only achieve it if before hitting the moon it managed to separate into two parts! Another curiosity to highlight of this "sea" is that inside there is a famous volcano named "Arquimedes"👨👨‍🏫

When I read about this sea I was impressed, do you know why? Here the famous Apollo 17 space mission landed. Incredible to imagine that here an earth ship was parked! One of the characteristics of this sea is that it has a flat surface, if you want to know the details of this sea you can see it in a powerful telescope and a cell phone! I sadly had my basic telescope but I still liked the result!😨🪐

When we see the moon the spot that stands out is this! the famous ocean of storms and is undoubtedly the largest on the moon! It is so big that they decided to call it an ocean and not a sea! Actually it is the only one called OCEAN, so that we can get an idea of the size of this ocean we can say that here there are 3 Spanish countries, the scientists determined that this was not formed by asteroid impacts but by volcanic activity of the moon!👨‍💻

These are one of the main craters on the moon, Tycho and Copernicus, the first is interesting because it was discovered by "Tycho Brahe" in the 15th century, that is, it has been many years since it was baptized, it is on the south pole side. of the moon and is one of the newest among the giant craters! the second is Copernic because it happened during the Copernican period this happened more than 1000 years ago, it is located to the northwest and we do not need a telescope to see it, it is visible with the naked eye!🤯🤴

The sea of fertility has a size of more than 800 km, its name is due to the time in which it originated in the nectary period! This happened more than 4000 years ago, the second is the so-called sea of nectar that dates back to the nectarean age to more than 3000 years, it is smaller than the sea of fertility with only 350km🪐🌑
