RE: Why we can't understand the Universe without the Telescope? (From Galileo's unlikely Middle Finger to the Cosmic Dawn)

Appearances can be deceptive - we will not understand the universe even with the telescope. All the telescopes in the world of every size and variety can show you more or less detailed images of things you can only make guesses about (terrestrial things excepted).

I agree that image can be deceptive, but we can a learn a lot from images, especially the hyperdimensional. With the right mathematics and science, we can know the underlying nature of things.

With all the math and science available to you, you can still only guess at the nature of extraterrestrial things. I don't mean to discourage you from trying, but thinking that the underlying nature of something - something you cannot smell, taste, touch or hear, and you've only ever seen one side of it not directly with your eyeball - is something that you can understand is a flawed assumption.

Yes, I agree math and science can only define certain pieces of the mysteries. We will not know completely what really are the underlying things. It is in the human nature to try to explain things he didn't know, whether its based on facts or faith.

I am not discourage at all. I think it is in our nature to find answer to our questions even it is flawed. I really love conversation like this one. I think people should have spirited conversation in the platform.
