Hello to the STEM Community

My whole life has been wrapped up in STEM in one form or another. Growing up my father worked as a Chemist for a Industrial Coatings Manufacturing Facility (they make paint for for water towers, sewage treatment plants, etc.). He started my interest in the STEM fields and unkowingly, by being a science fiction nerd, inspired me to look forward into a time where some of those things may become a reality and to think about what I could do to help them become reality. I have several areas of interest however my main two are computer programming and space, particularly space exploration and astrophysics. Several years ago I was well on my way to having a decent programming career. I was offered an internship at 15 from Cerner, I had to wait until I was 18 to take it but it was there if I wanted it. For some reason programming and space speak to me, I can understand them in ways I don't with other things. Unfortunately in recent years I have fallen away from my love of STEM and I am now working on brushing up on old knowledge and gaining new. One of my favorite things to do back when I had friends that were interested in the same things was to discuss theories. I hope that being a part of this community helps keep the flame I am trying to reignite in myself burning, and maybe I can help keep some of yours burning too. I do my best to stay away from pseudoscience however as I read through different articles on space travel, current technologies, quantum physics, etc. sometimes I start connecting dots on theoretical ways things could be used. I hope to be able to share some of these theories that I can articulate well with you all and get your opinions and feedback from you. If I ever cross a line please just let me know how and I will do my best to avoid doing that again. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope we can share our passions in these fields together.
