Protección contra inundaciones. Sistema de Drenaje Pluvial. Granja Avícola. Replanteo y secuencia constructiva/Flood protection. Stormwater Drainage System. Poultry Farm. Staking out and construction sequence.

Good morning community. Happy Sunday to everyone.
In this post, almost to conclude, we will address everything related to a construction layout plan (staking out), as well as the construction sequence and system operation.
**STAKING OUT **
As of yesterday, we have finalized the Staking Out Plan. Generally, this is one of the first drawings created in a project. Personally, since I draft it relatively quickly, I leave it for last when I am eager to finish, while I work on the more tedious drawings first when I have the most energy. Of course, this is not always possible in every case, as some drawings depend on the prior completion of others.
What is construction staking out?
In general terms, it is the specific location of all project components on the ground. To carry it out, the staking out plan drafted by the designer is required.
For this task, we started from two survey monuments previously located on the ground by the topographical crew (MON 1 and MON 2), which appear graphically in the documentation provided to us. We developed this drawing based on them. How?
We drew straight lines between monuments MON 1 and MON 2. After that, we established turning points and drew straight lines between these and the monuments until we linked the start and end points of all channels and culverts. Finally, we measured the distances of the straight lines and the angles formed from one point to the next.

With this information captured in the drawing, the surveying crew—using a total station and measuring tape—stakes out the project components, placing stakes that serve as markings for the contractor.
CONSTRUCTION PROCESS AND SYSTEM OPERATION
Once the project is staked out, we must guide the order in which it should be built, which is of vital importance even for protecting the components as they are being executed. Stormwater drainage systems, both via channels and pipes (as is the case with urban systems), are built in the opposite direction of the flow: from the end toward the beginning. Why? To give utility value to the infrastructure. If we built the tertiary channels before the secondary ones, and those before the main ones, they would flood during a rainfall event without having anywhere to discharge the runoff water. Let's explain precisely the order in which the channels and culverts designed for this project should be built:
Construction process
The construction process for the channels is not very complex in terms of excavation techniques. However, this is not the case for the precision requirements needed to meet the slopes specified in the design and thereby guarantee their proper functioning. For this reason, the entire construction process will be verified and approved by a topographical survey crew, preferably the same one that performed the initial survey.
For the construction of the culverts, trenches will be excavated and the subgrade leveled considering the slope and invert elevations of the design. An additional 10 cm will be excavated to place a sand bedding, followed by a 10 cm concrete mudslab (prepiso), leaving construction joints. Next, the pipe will be placed and encased in concrete up to the ground surface level, except for culverts A-12 and A-13, which will have up to 40 cm of concrete over the crown of the pipe. The concrete encasement is meant to guarantee the protection of the culverts, considering their shallow depth relative to the terrain. The width of the excavated trench will be 700 mm for the Ø 300 mm and Ø 400 mm culverts, and 800 mm for the Ø 500 mm culverts.
Construction order
1- The construction of the main channels will begin from the final discharge point toward the beginning—meaning, in the reverse direction of the water flow. (CP-1 section 4, 3, 2, and 1, and CP-2 section 4, culvert A-12, section 3B, culvert A-13, section 3A, section 2, and section 1).
2- The culverts of the tributary channels to the main channels (A-8, A-4, A-11, A-10, A-9) along with their corresponding channels (CS-3, CS-2, CT-9, CT-8, and CT-7).
3- Culverts A-1, A-2, A-3, A-5, A-6, A-7 along with their corresponding channels (CT-1, CT-2, CT-3, CT-4, CT-5).
System operation
In a rural stormwater drainage system utilizing unlined earthen channels, operation is based on constant maintenance, even after significant rainfall events, to monitor whether siltation (azolvamiento) has occurred in the channels or culverts.
Channel slopes can be reshaped simply using a hoe, including within the culvert sections where silting exists, provided it is accessible; otherwise, pressurized water can be used.
Vegetation growth that obstructs the flow must not be allowed inside the channel. Similarly, nearby trees whose roots could affect the channel side slopes (taludes) must be managed.
