Why and how to use the fuse

We all use fuses in our homes to prevent accidents. In 1870, Edison invented the fuse to protect against electrical damage. A fuse is capable of carrying a certain amount of current. A thinner wire with a lower melting point is used in the fuse.

When an electric circuit carries more current than a certain value, the fuse melts and the power supply is cut off. Suppose there is a short circuit somewhere in a house or factory. The short circuit can catch fire and the risk of damage from the short circuit is much higher. Whenever there is a short circuit, the fuse will melt and the current will stop flowing. It can also happen that if the power supply from the power station i.e. the transformer of the feeder line is damaged, the electrical equipment in your house may be damaged due to excess voltage. This can protect you from any damage to the fuse. The price of the fuse is very low and readily available and its performance is also very good. So the use of fuses for electrical safety is very popular.

The design of the fuse is very simple. Anyone can do maintenance. When it is melted, it can be easily changed and the thickness of the wire can be changed according to the electrical demand. There is no fault in the fuse and it can be easily maintained. The fuse does not cause any flames and no extra noise when the short circuit current stops flowing and it takes much less time to turn off the power supply. Currently there are different types of fuses like cartridge fuse, drop out fuse, liquid fuse, striker fuse and horn gap fuse etc.

Use the fuse properly in your home or anywhere. If used incorrectly, the possibility of an accident will remain. When the fuse is tightened, it cannot stop the accident. So everyone be careful, stay safe, avoid electrical accidents.
