A cordial greeting to all the brothers of this beautiful of hive platform. This time I will talk a little of what is a split type air conditioner and what are some of its parts.

Portada ingles.png

There are several types of air conditioners, and this time we will begin by explaining a little what is a split type air conditioner: This split type air conditioner has 2 separate units, the indoor unit or console and the outdoor unit or condensing unit.

Foto 1 ingles.png

  • The internal unit or console, is responsible for extracting the hot air and transferring its heat to the refrigerant gas that passes through tubes to create condensation and cold air, all this with the help of a turbine or fan, this at the same time is also responsible for distributing the cooled air within the environment where the console or internal unit is located, this is called the refrigeration cycle.

  • The external unit or condensing unit, houses the condenser and compressor where the refrigerant gas changes from gas to liquid. From this unit the hot air is expelled to the outside (the heat that we have "removed" from the inside).

Let's talk a little and go explaining some parts of the split type air conditioner.

Foto 2 ingles.png

  • Display or thermostat: this is responsible for receiving the signal from the remote control and indicate the temperature that is requested, in some cases or depending on the brand and model, also indicates the temperature at which the environment is. also regulates the operation of the equipment as this together with the temperature sensors (room and well), once it has matched the room temperature with the temperature that has been requested to the equipment, they send the signal to the card to send to turn off the external unit or condenser.

Foto 3 ingles.png

  • The turbine or fan of the console: is an elongated piece located at the bottom inside that goes almost from one end to the other, is connected at one end to a motor that makes it work. The turbine is the one that circulates the air through the honeycomb or evaporator coil and in turn distribute the cold air. It is one of the pieces that has the air that is of utmost care as this has an almost perfect balance and even staples are placed at certain points to create that balance. If the turbine were to lose this balance either by rupture or even by the same accumulation of dirt that sticks in each of its fins, this vibrates a lot and comes to create a mismatch in the equipment and in the engine that moves it.

Foto 4 ingles.png

  • Drain pan: is responsible for collecting all the water produced by the evaporator or coil of the console and in turn drain that water, this tray must be placed completely level, since its design is structured to give the fall to the water collected to the drain point that is located in one of the lower corners of it. At the bottom of the tray, there are flaps and movable windows that are also driven by a small motor. The function of these is to direct the cold air expelled by the turbine, either from one side to the other, or from top to bottom, these are adjustable according to the taste of the person.

Foto 5 ingles.png

  • The card: talk and explain this card is very interesting, because it is the brain operator of all the equipment completely, like the human brain that is responsible for sending all the signals for each of the body parts, similarly carries the air card that sends all the signals for the perfect functioning of the equipment. Physically we can see that it is full of electronic components (diodes, capacitors and transformers) also connect the terminals of our main components such as: compressor, motors, various types of sensors, among others.

Foto 6 ingles.png

  • The condensing unit or external unit, unlike what I explained at the beginning of the post, this is composed of the compressor, the fan motor, capacitors and electrical part. I will explain the parts of this unit...

Foto 7 ingles.png

  • Capacitors and electrical part: In the electrical part arrives the cable that comes from the console with the signal (current) for the operation and start of this unit, from there the current is distributed to the compressor, fan motor and capacitors.
Among the capacitors there are 2, the running capacitor and the fan motor capacitor.
  • Run capacitor: This is like a battery and is responsible for giving an impulse or force to the compressor to start, depending on the size or strength of the compressor this can be of greater capacity.
  • Fan motor capacitor: Like the run capacitor this is also like the battery and the one that gives the impulse but to the fan motor to start it, and also depending on the size and strength of the motor, the capacitor can be of greater capacity.

Foto 8 ingles.png

  • The compressor: As its name suggests its main function is to compress the refrigerant gas that allows, in a process of compression / decompression, produce a heat transfer from one part to another this is called '' refrigerant circuit ''. As in the card I made the comparison with the human body, in this case, the compressor would be like the heart, but this pumps the air in hot form, through an extensive copper pipe so that in the path that hot gas is cooling. The compressor generates a force that compresses the gas arriving from the evaporator or coil in gaseous state. This pressure increases the temperature of the gas, which causes it to return to its liquid state.

  • Fan motor: The job of this fan is to remove as much of the heat produced by the compressor into the condensing unit or outdoor unit. As the compressor generates so much hot air the fan motor is responsible for removing all that heat for the best performance of the compressor and thus avoid overheating of the same, also cooling the hot air passing through all the copper pipe that is inside the coil of the condensing unit.

This post I did it in order that many learned what is a split type air conditioner, what are its parts and explain what is the function of each of them.
In some ways it is my work and my day to day and I wanted to share it with you all, I hope you like it and is to your liking give me your support to continue making more post like this that is useful for everyone thank you very much and I hope you vote for me.
