I didn't know lead poisoning could still be that common in some corners of the planet. Will humans ever learn?

Well, A friend told me that in Zamfara state, Northern Nigeria, people suffer from lead poisoning. It doesn't matter how it gets into the body, either it is absorbed, swallowed or breathed-in, it will have the same health effects.

How is contamination going in practice. What is the origins of lead in Zamfara state? Thanks in advance for answering my question!
