RE: Illusions

Visual perception and cognitive biases may contribute to why we are seeing mirage or illusion. Visual perception may be affected by environmental factors such as light, humidity and shadows. It may create a visual illusion when we put much our attention to it. Also, cognitive biases may kick in. Sometime we see peoples figure in inanimate object, and I presume our brain associate the figure into what is familiar, which caused by cognitive biases. Hence computer vision is adapted from human visual prowess, can computer vision have visual illusion? I am quite intrigue with that idea.

I really appreciate your visit and your intriguing comment. Raises questions not only about perception but about consciousness. I think of 2001 a Space Odyssey and Hal. I think of everything that's been written and speculated about AI since then. I think about the inscrutability of human consciousness. All of it affects perception--top down or bottom up...

You see, you got me thinking....only a great comment can do that.

Have a wonderful day!
