Climate Change is Becoming a Menace In Our World
We wouldn't mention climate change without mentioning carbon dioxide and since the dawn of the industrial revolution, we have emitted over 2.3 trillion tons of it into the atmosphere but it isn't like we are releasing only CO2 into the environment, we are a specie that is good at producing a lot of greenhouse gasses such as methane and nitrous oxide, and it is like this emission is on steroids as it keeps increasing but we need to bring it down to zero emission because it has come with lots of consequences such like increased heat waves which is even a problem I am experiencing as I type this because I am sweating in my room and asides that, glaciers melting, and reduced amount of ice in the north pole. One way we can reduce this change in climate is by reducing our collective emissions.
So I agree with the above school of thought, so do you and so do the government of almost of countries but no country has agreed to taking responsibility for this or looking to bear the load of reducing these emissions. While developed countries like the United States claim to be working hard to reduce carbon emission as they are moving to renewable energy, they blame developing countries for releasing this emission but then President Tinubu during his campaign when asked about climate change mentioned that what is the total amount of carbon dioxide that Nigeria produce compared to what the United States produce. He mentioned that when we reach the level of US emissions, then we can say that we are releasing carbon dioxide because while the US claim to be moving to cleaner energy they still release a lot of Carbon dioxide which is as a result of majorly lifestyle but in Africa, what ever gas we produce is because we need to survive and that's the way we are able to survive. Words like the developed countries became rich by polluting but wants the developing countries not to build their wealth through the same way. But beyond this, we need to find a solution to this gas emissions.
According to statistics, Asia is the highest emitter of Carbon dioxide followed by North America, Europe, Africa, South America, and Oceania with China being the biggest emitter followed by the United States, and the EU which make over 50% of the entire CO2 produced and it is followed by India, Russia, Japan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Canada and the entire countries I mention are responsible for about 75% of the entire global emission which means that the rest of the world share the remaining 25%. So we do not start nailing China to the cross, the US and the EU have Emitted more greenhouse gasses in the entire history than China.
Now that we understand where we are, it is important that we state clearly that countries that do not contribute to the emission of gasses both as a nation and individually based on population are the ones that are suffering the effect of climate change the most as it is affecting food production. As at currently, less than 20% of farmers who planted corn/maize in my country got good yield and this was because the rain stopped early and the heat came very fast and hotter.
Countries that are developed are trying to cut down on carbon emission but the reason why they can do this is because they are rich currently and can afford renewable alternatives in their pursuit to reduce greenhouse gas emission but are the developing and underdeveloped countries this privilege? In other for this countries to adapt the goal of reducing carbon emission of which they are not the highest emitters, then the solutions have to come cheap. We need to begin to understand that climate change is a global problem and a country cannot fix the problem alone and everybody needs to do the best that we can to get it fixed.

I took a few pictures of a Corn Seller today and what she was selling was nothing close to corn in the right sense as it was not big at all. She complained bitterly about the rain and said she was lucky to have gotten such harvest. The way the climate is changing, it is becoming worrisome to me personally because I need to shower over and over at night because of the heat level.
