Health they say is wealth. People who are healthy may not really understand the importance of living a healthy life until you come across a sick person.

I have realized that sickness is not only by what we eat often or the kind of life style we chose to live, sometimes some of this things can be genetic or hereditary.

I have actually seen a family where 90% of people living in there are diabetic. Starting from the father, children and even extended children. This is typically an example of what I mean by saying that diseases are not only by what we eat or drink.

It is quite unfortunate that both adult and children have higher chances of falling sick regardless of age statue.

Here in the hospital where I walk, I have seen a lot of persons suffering from one disease condition to the other. But believe me about 90% of kidney disease I have witnessed since I started work are mainly in children below the age of 10.

I have asked myself why do children suffer from kidney disease and why is it becoming a normal in our present erra.
Looking at the picture below is one of our patient who is passing through kidney issue.

This child developed this problem just two weeks ago when we happen to diagnose protein in the urinalysis done on him. After the test I was able to find out that there are up to three pluses of protein in his urine.

This actually lead to other test like serum electrolyte urea creatinine level(Seucr)to confirm if he is really having this problem.

The test later confirmed that he is down with kidney problem.
My point of narrating this story is to let us understand that kidney problem can develop any moment at any given time.

Today I will be talking about the things we do often that has a higher chances of causing kidney failure for us and the things we need to be doing in other to avoid this kidney complications.

what is kidney disease

Kidney disease, or renal disease, technically referred to as nephropathy, is damage to or disease of a kidney.

Kidney disease can as well be referred as nephritis if the kidney undergoes inflammation. The point or angle where the problem is coming from has its own different meaning but still kidney disease.

One problem about kidney problem is that it takes time for a person who developed this problem to recover easily.

At the beginning of kidney disease, the kidney glomerular filtration rate is still high enough for the kidney to perform on its own. But as it progresses when the glomerular filtration rate is below 15, the kidney automatically losses it function and therefore needs a device or machine which can help in doing the kidney function.

At this point dialysis or kidney transplant is now the only option left.

Dialysis is actually a machine designed to do the work of the kidney when the kidney is no longer working. The work of this machine is to filter out some waste product out of the kidney and send back the needed one inside of the body.

This machine is designed to help those with kidney problem until kidney transplant is being done.

Causes of kidney disease

There are a lot of things which are more likely to cause kidney problem. These includes high blood pressure, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, prolonged obstruction of the urinary tract, recurrent kidney infection and many others.

Aside this, there are also people who has higher chances of getting this disease. These includes
Diabetic patient, smoking, obesity and heart disease.

possible ways to avoid kidney problem
Eating healthy

Knowing the kind of food we eat in other to avoid building up of cholesterol we help us from coming down with kidney problem.

Also regular intake of fruits and vegetables we also contribute in maintiy a healthy kidney.

Avoid smoking

Making out time to stop some of the bad ways of life will be another contributing factor in making our kidney healthy.

Some of us has actually formed the habit of taking cigarettes and other bad stuff which could be very dangerous to our health.

Regular Exercise

Regular exercise should help lower your blood pressure and reduce your risk of developing kidney disease.
At least 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) of moderate-intensity aerobic activity, such as cycling or fast walking, every week is recommended, as well as strength exercises on 2 or more days a week that work all the major muscles (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders and arms

Conclusion

Kidney problem have actually contributed to the death we have this days.

People are coming down on daily bases due to one kidney issue or the other.
I think with the above listed things we will be able to minimize some of the things we take that could contribute to this problem.
