An insight on bacteria infection and how we can combat drug resistance

Today in our day by day activities, you find out that the things we do, the kind of life we live and the environment we find ourselves, there are millions of bacteria everywhere.

If for example you are given a microscope to view the palm of your hands, I bet you, the number of bacteria you will see may surprise you.

Everyday, we keep on having a good number of persons falling sick. This has actually made some persons to start treating what you are not meant to.

Reason being that most of them assume that the sickness may be as a result of malaria or typhoid fever.

Due to this, a lot of them ends up buying drugs that are not meant for their ailment therefore increasing the high rate of drug resistance among themselves.

Today in our various hospital, people die everyday because of their own personal decisions and what they have done to themselves.

Doing a laboratory test is the most important thing everyone should abide with. It helps you know what you are treating and therefore reduce the rate at which you consume antibiotics.

A lot of bacteria today have similar symptoms of malaria and typhoid. Because of this, you actually need to identify the kind of disease you are treating in other not to cause problem for yourself.

Today, we will be discussing on bacteria infection and how we can combat drug resistance action.

bacteria infection

Bacteria infection is the proliferation of a harmful strain of bacteria. This strain of bacteria affects virtually every parts of the body.

Bacteria can actually be divided into two gram positive and gram negative.
Gram positive has a thick cell wall why gram negative does not. Bacteria when divided helps you to understand and to know the kind of bacteria you are treating. Most people can only tell you about their body state knowing fully well that their ailment is as a result of bacteria but cannot tell you the kind of bacteria it is.

Different bacteria actually have different pattern of treatment. Some bacteria if left untreated can be detrimental why other can't. This kinds of bacteria are better treated on time with the right drugs to avoid being resistance to it.

Today in our various hospital more especially the eastern part Nigeria where I came from. Drug resistance has done more harm than good. In our environment today, if you are opportune to visit a hospital laboratory where some of this used culture plates are being kept, my dear you will understand that most death are no longer due to absence of drug but the supposed drugs not working.

Drug resistance

Drug resistance is the reduction in effectiveness of drugs in the body. This can be caused as a result of drug misuse or overused of drugs. Sometimes drug resistance can be as a result of the environment we found ourselves, lack of clean water and sanitation.

Sometimes if you look deeply to what causes bacteria resistance you will be able to understand that poor quality drugs may also be one of the major reason.

Today in our environment, alot of people has actually entered into the business of dug production. Because of this reason we no longer know the right drugs to buy.
Everyday day we keep on having increase in mortality rate which is as a result of the situation we found ourselves.
Micro organisms are now getting worse everyday by day.

New different bacteria rising rapidly, sometimes some of this bacteria may be as a result of another new dimension the bacteria has developed into trying to cope with the drugs we have taken. This now develops into another form therefore becoming stronger and difficult to treat. Let's take a good look at this new bacteria.

new bacteria in human blood

New species of bacteria have been discovered in china. This bacteria was discovered during a normal routine medical check up. This bacteria are found under the group of enterobacter genus.

Normally the types of bacteria found under this group are usually not harmful but can be dangerous if found in some parts of our body like urinary tract, respiratory system and in the blood stream.

The presence of this bacteria in the blood causes sepsis and meningitis, while in the lungs can lead to pneumonia.
These bacteria's are named Enterobacter huaxiensis and Enterobacter chuandaensis.

Getting to this point, you must have understood that a lot of things can actually cause drug resistance which is posing more treat to our body. The earlier we discovered that this resistance can be a problem to us the better we start helping our life through reduction in the number of drugs we misuse in other to remain sensitive to drugs.

A way forward towards bringing down the rate of drugs resistance

Drug resistance is one of the leading cause of death in our country today. This can actually be prevented through different ways. Curtailing the amount of drugs we take unprescribed which people today are doing not knowing the repacaution that may come with it.

Secondly, taking the supposed drug for your ailment. This can be known after you must have done your laboratory test to confirm the actual cause of your disease and the right drugs needed for the treatment.

Thirdly, poor hygiene and sanitation can also be the reason why our sickness refuses to accept treatment.

Finally, trying to complete the full dose of antibiotics if when given to you. Reason being that so many people stops taking drug whenever they feel that they are getting better not knowing that it is causing more harm to them internally.

in conclusion

It is better we understand the disadvantage of drug resistance to enable us put to stop some of the things we do that are major causes of the increase in this resistivity.

Taking drugs when not prescribed, not going for laboratory test when sick and not maintaining a good environment should be avoided in other not to cause problem for yourself in the future.

Thanks for coming around

Antimicrobial stewardship programs must be taken seriously if w really want to combat resistance by these microorganisms.

Yea. People this days no longer understand the repacaution that comes with antibiotics resistance. Nice one bro

A lot of things (bacteria) lives among us the human. It's only left for us to be hygienic in all we do to at least reduce the spread 🙄

Nice text, with a lot of important advice. I hope people will read it carefully!

Finally, trying to complete the full dose of antibiotics if when given to you. Reason being that so many people stops taking drug whenever they feel that they are getting better not knowing that it is causing more harm to them internally.

This is something very important. I know many people stopping their treatment as soon as they are getting better. This is very bad (there is always a reason why a given treatment should be take during X days and not X-5 days...).

Stopping treatment just because you are beginning to get better is very detrimental. But today people no longer care about it,that is why we keep having drug resistance everyday.
Thank you for coming around

I agree with you. The situation is very unfortunate... :(
