Weekly Science And Technology Reports - December 3, 2023
Happy New month frenz !!!
Hope we are all preparing for the Christmas celebrations, me and Santa would be going round on that day, and those that refused to celebrate would be severely dealt with. I guess it's time to change the trend, sharing of gifts alone is overrated. Don't you think so Santa ?
Santa Claus: 😁
I guess we would take that as a yes. If you don't like the trend, then I suggest you f*cking leave the planet.
Just kidding but.......I still think the trend needs to be updated. 😂
Alright frenz, let's begin with the proceedings of today.
Exposure to speech before birth can facilitate learning in newborns
One fascinating aspects about our childhood and babyhood is our ability to learn fast, thanks to a relatively higher level of a special property called "neuroplasticity". One of the things we tend to learn fast at such stages is language and it's mostly believed that we start learning languages after birth. Could that really be the case ? - that we start learning language after birth.
This report seems to be suggesting otherwise but keep reading to find out more. Be careful with what you say, for the womb have ears. 😉
What would happen to Earth if a rogue star came too close?
One of the basic knowledge of our cosmos is that planets and space rocks (asteroids) usually orbit a central star - in our case this star is our sun. The stars are usually more massive and bigger than the planets and in this model, the complex dynamics of the planets and the space rocks could cause any of them to loose orbit and go the wrong way, like the case of the asteroid that lost it's orbit and crashed into our planet and partly caused the extinction of the then dinosaurs. Well, that is in the scale of solar systems, a collection of solar systems (including stars), space dusts and black holes makes up a galaxy. At the centre of the galaxy is mostly a supermassive black hole, every other object orbits this black hole. The complex dynamics of these objects around the black hole could one day cause a star to loose orbit, potentially setting it's course towards our planet. Of course, such star would first need to battle with our sun for gravitational dominance.
😳
The f*ck, that shit sounds scary. Actually it should be and that's why some researchers have raised the issue. Simulations were ran to see the likely outcomes, if we were one day presented with such event and you won't believe what they discovered........keep reading to find out and more. I hope I'm long dead before such catastrophic event happens, not a fan of such cosmic dance. 😂
What’s behind China’s mysterious wave of childhood pneumonia?
About a week back i happened to hear from a friend whom I had not spoken to in a relatively long time and he revealed to me that he had been hospitalized for weeks and you won't believe what he was diagnosed with, you may have guessed right, Pneumonia but that's just one of three ailments he was diagnosed with. On seeing this report, it has got me bothered but about what really?
A potential pandemic if care isn't taken, especially with the fact that China seems to be now involved again, like in the COVID-19 case.....keep reading to find out more. Looks like nature (including us) is tired of us. 😂
Dinosaurs Might Be The Reason We're Not Living to 200 Years Old
Have you ever wondered why we don't live very long ? - like living up to 200 years
One researcher thinks dinosaurs may be responsible but why would he think so ?
Interesting question..... just keep reading to find out why and more. If that were to be the case, then the dinosaurs.........................deserve an accolade, I think we deserve it. Who is with me on this ? 😂
The final frontier? How humans could live underwater in 'ocean stations'
It's quite fascinating the boundaries we can cross. In the past, it was likely thought that we would forever be trapped on land but guess what, those who may have thought so were wrong. They seem to have underestimated "Homo sapiens", today we seem to have beaten birds in their own game, we can leave the planet but they can't and it appears it may not just end there. This report presents us with a future project that would enable us in conquering the ocean, actually we are yet to conquer the ocean and by conquering the ocean, I mean......you may have guessed right but keep reading to find out more. Looks like we are about to beat fishes in their own game too. 😎
This penguin survives on 4-second microsleeps — thousands of times a day
How many times do sleep in a day?
Probably once and lengthy (from night to morning) or twice (night and daytime sleep) or more than twice (including microsleeps). I'm sure you must be wondering what a microsleep is but don't worry, I've got you covered. You may have on certain days be performing an activity like reading or doing a vigilante work and suddenly dozed off but then woke up after a very short time, that's a microsleep. So what does this have to do with this report?
I guess the only way to find out is to keep reading. This penguin deserves to be a Guinness record holder, sleeping 10,000 times a day is no easy feat. 😂
It is here we conclude today's report, have a thoughtful day and till i come your way again next week.

"Earth has about a billion years of habitable surface conditions remaining"
tik-tok :)
