Mouth Bacteria Nemesis🔬🧫 / Nemesis de Bacterias bucales🧠 (En-Es)

Hello science lovers, this post is an experiment where we are going to test how toothpastes act on different microorganisms, we are going to apply a few grams of brand toothpaste; (Oral-B) diluted in water to an in-vivo sample of stagnant water in a controlled medium with vegetable proteins and then oral microorganisms. According to the Oral-B toothpaste label, it tells us that it reduces a high level of bacteria, but have you ever seen it work in vivo? Could it also work for other microorganisms? Let's answer all this with my experiment!🧠🔬

I did not have a preference for the brand, it is simply the one I use at home, it gives me good results and it caught my attention to see how it works (in vivo), but before observing its effect on the bacterial load, let's see what the components are that give it that antimicrobial property: (TIN CHLORIDE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, ZINC (LACTATE, CITRATE), SODIUM HEXAMETAPHOSPHATE) Although it has other compounds, these are the main ones that attack the accumulation of microorganisms in the mouth, let me tell you that bacteria they do not completely disappear from the mouth since they are part of our body, toothpastes reduce the bacterial load for a few hours. What happens is that the toothpaste acts as a bacterial inhibitor, one of the secrets of toothpastes for more than "25 years has been: (2,4,4,trichloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether).🧠🔬

How do the components work?🧠/ Como actuan los componentes🧫🕵️‍♂️

What happens at a chemical and biological level with toothpaste and bacteria is cited by the scientific work of: (Barreto, 2005); "The famous tricosan that I already mentioned has a broad bacterial spectrum and not only bacteria it also "attacks" fungi, the first place or structure that tricosin affects bacteria is in the plasma membrane, do you remember my alcohol experiment with chlorophyll? Apparently, toothpastes act on the plasmatic transport of bacteria. As it is not ionic, it is "compatible" with fluorides and abrasives" (Feitosa, Araujo 2005). If we apply tricosan in low concentrations, the bacteria are unable to absorb nutrients from the external environment, which we could call an effect: "Bacteriostatic", if we increase the concentration it ends up being bactericidal, and of course it would destroy the membrane, without a membrane the bacteria spills its substances into the environment. components and consequently there would be cell death".🧫🕵️‍♂️🧠

With this job I learned a lot, I had no idea how toothpastes worked and here is another even more interesting fact, and that is that the most effective toothpastes are those that are pure (concentrated), then those that have other added components such as plants: (aloe) are less effective, after applying the Oral-B solution in the other in vivo culture medium I was able to determine that the rotifers are not afraid of toothpaste and tolerate it very well, not while the ciliates some last a long time but others lose the properties of their membrane and die!🧠🕵️‍♂️

Never buy these toothpastes🧠/ Nunca compres estos dentrificos🧫🕵️‍♂️

First of all I want to mention that I did not try this product in my experiment, instead I make the recommendation based on the work of Barreto, 2005 where he shows that the toothpaste (Parodontax) did not show antimicrobial effects, or at least as effective as the other brands! So far with this experiment I have shown that both alcohol and toothpaste are the nemesis of buscales bacteria because they destroy their membrane.🧫🔬

I like how you actually did this.
