As a potential worldwide energy alternative, hydrogen faces many challenges:

Many researches, and according to the CLEF Scientific Journal, by 2050, the development of hydrogen technologies would result in a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions and a 40% reduction in oil usage.
Many people are wondering whether hydrogen can bring about a revolution in the field of energy, especially with the current climate changes and the problem of energy shortage in some countries. And we have talked in previous articles about the developments and research presented by researchers that would reduce the cost of hydrogen production and improve productivity. So, since hydrogen-containing compounds are available, and extraction methods become efficient, what is stopping hydrogen from being a global alternative energy?

In addition to the obstacles that lie in the energy sources used in the hydrogen extraction process, which must be sources of clean energy. Hydrogen storage is expensive, This makes the use of hydrogen as a global alternative energy a major challenge for industrial companies, researchers and governments.

Hydrogen storage:

The hydrogen storage procedure uses a lot of energy. The liquefaction of hydrogen is a more complicated process since it uses more energy and occurs at a lower temperature (-253°C). Specific solids or liquids must be present in order to store hydrogen at standard temperatures and pressures.

Batteries are the most popular method of storing the electrical energy generated by hydrogen. We must store the energy generated while there is wind, sun, current, or waves in order to use it when we need it because many modern renewable energy sources are intermittent. This necessitates a considerable amount of storage space. Because huge tanks for hydrogen are a better alternative to massive batteries, which have a lot of disadvantages, hydrogen is the best option.
