HIV Curtail Applications and What Science Has Done for the Cure

HIV seems to have increased in the previous years due to the fact that people lack the knowledge on how to avoid the spread, especially in Africa where HIV has killed millions of people. In Africa, they are thousands of people who tested positive but has vowed to keep spreading the virus to their partners just because they believe that they can't be the only one to have been infected with HIV. This mentality of Africans is very wrong and needs to be changed in order to reduce the speed spread of HIV in Africa.

just like with many other sexually transmitted infections, there are some common ways in which HIV can be transmitted. The good news is that these methods have been identified and the steps to reduce transmission risk have been outlined.

Easiest ways HIV can be transmitted:

CDC HIV is most commonly transmitted through sexual contact, sharing needles, or contact with infected blood. It's important to know how the virus is spread so you can take steps to protect yourself and others.

Sexual Contact: HIV is transmitted through sexual contact with someone who is infected with the virus. This includes vaginal, anal, and oral sex. You must always use sex protection during sex to avoid being at risk.

Sharing Needles: HIV can be transmitted through sharing needles with someone who is infected with the virus. This includes needles used for injecting drugs, tattooing, and body piercing. If you share needles, you are at risk for HIV infection.

Contact with Infected Blood: Because this blood has been infected, one can easily get infected through contact with the blood. This includes contact with blood through needlesticks or contact with open wounds. If you come into contact with infected blood, you are at risk for HIV infection.

Ways to Avoid HIV Transmission:

HIV infor.NIH There are several ways to avoid HIV transmission, and it is important to be aware of them in order to keep yourself and others safe. HIV is most commonly transmitted through sexual contact, so it is important to practice safe sex by using condoms and other barrier methods during sex.

If you are sharing needles or other injection equipment, be sure to clean them thoroughly before each use.

You can also avoid HIV transmission by getting tested regularly and knowing your status. If you are positive, you can take steps to protect your partners by using condoms and other precautions.

Some effort that has been made by science to cure HIV:

Fred Hutch Science is trying their possible best to make sure that the treatment of HIV is achieved at all costs. The global fight against the disease has been quite a challenge to scientists. It is not easy to come up with a cure for the disease which is still a mystery.

It’s more than two decades since the virus was discovered, but only 10 years ago it was revealed that there are treatments available. However, even now, only about 5.1 million people have access to HIV medications globally and many die from AIDS in Africa and other poor countries where health services are lacking. Furthermore, these medications don’t work for everyone, as patients develop resistance to them resulting in drug cocktails that are highly toxic and expensive.

Conclusion:

Since the existence of HIV has become common among humans, it will be good to be on the safer side by using condoms during sex, avoiding sharing needles, and getting tested regularly, you can greatly reduce your risk of becoming infected with HIV. Education is key in preventing the spread of HIV, so please share this information with others who may not be aware of the risks.
