Pushing All The Right Buttons

I've addressed this before. I'm not repeating myself which is something I do regularly, I'm just going over it again-going over it again. I respond to myself sometimes, too, you ever do that? You don't have to answer that. Simple fix: Edit - copy - delete. Exit out - go back where you meant to say it in the first place - paste/send, "tada!" Like it never happened. This has nothing to do with the thing I'm addressing again-thing I'm addressing again nor does the following paragraph.

I'm stalling

I voted for myself before—twice! Still can't believe I did that. Not avoid the subject. That, too, but I can't believe I voted for myself.. Twice! Both were comments. My own comment to someone else—wrong arrow. Not that there's anything wrong with it! We all have our own way of doing things, each of us are about as alike as.....
....
...
..

Nothing!

By the end of this paragraph you'll know what I haven't been able to spit out yet-spit out yet. It's a touchy subject and I don't mean touchy good touchy. Touchy bad touchy. Don't take it personally if I'm not following you, wait! That's not what this is about. That came out wrong. It's difficult to talk about this. Not following someone's nothing, doesn't even require an explanation. Preface follow with U-N, however, better stand back before you light that. Some people are like moonshine around here—straight to the heart! Unfollow.

:deep breath: They treat the unfollow button (6 letter word, button, that's all it is) like the person who clicked it is the bus driver who made their kid cry cuz she stopped in a mud puddle and the spoiled rotten brat didn't wanna dirty up his Rainbow Bright Light Special Edition Pumped Up kicks so he pouted like a cry baby punk ass kid before throwing a temper tantrum like he's been doing since infancy to which she laughed hysterically, "LolO.. lolol. LloLoL!!" While painfully bent over in a gut-busting laughing position from the driver seat, she Pumped Up Kicked his ungrateful ass out the bus, "Splash!" (that was mud) Dropped the eco-friendly diesel clutch like a 64n1/2 Mustang at the illegal street drags in an old greaser movie, "Errrrt!" (screeching tires) Peeled out all over his Rainbow Bright Light Special Edition Pumped Up kicks flyin a middle finger out the window for the world to see while leaving a trail of echoing air horn in her wake heard for two city blocks. :exhale:

Honk

HoooNnNnkK
ho0OonnkKkk!!!
H0oNnNkKKkkk ! ! !

A muddied pair of Rainbow Bright Light Special Edition Pumped Up kicks and an unfollow button are nothing alike, they're not even conducive to the same extremity, what's the BIG deal? It's just a button. You're overreacting—life's too fast for mistimed reactions.

img_6621.png
Somewhere in one of the Carolina's
(Not sure about dude on the corner)

We've never even been in the same room together, you and I, one unfollow and suddenly you're barefoot over molten lava on a time sensitive suspension bridge. It might not've been my fault, ever thought of that?

Unintentional (src)

I unfollowed a bunch of producers during my last blockchain break which coincidentally happened to be top-dead-center sun'of'a contentious hard fork. I still don't know how or what happened, I've concluded it had something to do with switching from SteemAuto to Hive.vote. I'll never know how many producers my account unfollowed—a lot! Every once in awhile I see one and I'm, 'Yooo! Sorry about that! I swear it wasn't me.' The worst was @lizelle. None were easy but explaining myself to the blockchain grandma sucked! I sent her a hand-written note inside a box of Afrikoa Chocolate, 'I'm innocent of all charges.' Felt about this big that day. But at least she didn't mute me for it!

Some of you are curating machines with your quality reblogs one after the other, iheart all ya'all! Keep up the great work! This is all my fault. My irresponsibility and lack of consuming skills are to blame here, no one else's. @dandays - The Luckiest Guy I Know assumes all liability, you did nothing wrong. I have a difficult time as it is keeping up with content in my feed produced by authors I am following. Unfollow, however, in this digital realm commonly known to us peasant folk as ecosphere, I've seen more people completely lose their shit over an unfollow :click: than an eviction notice.

It's just a button

I don't follow the NFL anymore but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy a good game or I'm stoopiit enough to refuse a Super Bowl party invitation at the Playboy Mansion. I don't follow the NFL anymore, reality TV at its finest, I'm just not into it like I used to be but I wouldn't mute them and refuse all future NFL programming just because I stopped following them.

It's Just A Button!!

I don't know why anyone follows The Rolling Stones, bla bla whatever, get your Satisfaction in the comment section, I'm not your Beast Of Burden. I'm not a Stones fan and I think it's peculiar they continue making public appearances while appearing to look dead at the same time. I'm not following The Stones, I'd unfollow them in a Jumpin Jack Flash if I was because You Can't Always Get What You Want. But I've never considered muting them nor would I refuse orchestra seats to a Stones show just because I don't follow them.

It's just a button❗️❗️❗️

Nothing to get excited about, try not to let it ruin your day. Check out this video before you take off—Pumped Up Kicks. I unfollowed the original version when I saw Marquese Scott dance (if that's what it's called) to this dubstep remix—follow! It made a :click: sound but that's all it did. :click:

Hey, @dandays.

It's just a button, right?

I've largely missed out on the kind of falling apart by someone I've unfollowed mostly because they're not really on the platform anymore. I still have a few who aren't really producing much. Guess that means I should be finding other people to follow. I wonder if that's a HIVE civic duty? Now, I'm wondering if following is even a thing, with communities. Is it? If so, then I probably could do more of it. If not, then unfollowing is even less of a deal than it was a second ago. :)

You're probably right with communities, not such a big deal today. Good morning, Glen, thanks a lot for checkin this one out.

I used myself metaphorically, of course, why I'd never tune out a station that doesn't interest me..... this was for the kids. Hopefully maybe today there's one less teenager cutting their wrist over the weight applied by a virtual friends index finger upon a mouse button. It's just a button.

Without mentioning any names, a popular weekly shindig here is one of the however many accounts that muted me. I'm confident it was a retaliation mute because my account unfollowed her/him (I'll never tell) back when I had nothing to do with it. But I still show up over there weekly and chime in my tr.... Ooh! I almost let it slip. I still participate over there each week if for nothing else, to verify I am still, in fact, on the mute menu. Haven't received a confirmation notice over there once!

Enjoy the rest of your week, sir, always a pleasure to know what you think. The Mrs. got any interviews lined up for you today or what?

Hey, @dandays.

Not quite yet, but it's not from a lack of trying. :)

As for the rest of this, sounds like a lot of drama for someone. Not you, but the other person. Fortunately, I haven't found myself in such a situation either way, as far as I know. If I'm been muted, I don't know about it. :)

Thankfully in order for me to follow someone in the first place, for the most part, it takes some decent circumstances! I follow some for news like the big projects and shit but down to regular folks, if I followed them then I liked their stuff at one point or another! Some get really butt hurt over the button. If someone un-follows me it's unfortunate but not going to make a big deal about it, everyone's got their reasons! I see that you finally crossed 1k followers! I remember I was like number 987 or something, that was cool. Now you're one of the big guys, over 1k! 😎

Wait, give yourself more credit, @cmplxty, you're 1k! You were my thousandth. You're special.

Dude I piss people off regularly, I can virtually feel it. If someone is constantly blasting memes or politics (I've never even voted, I'm well aware they give zero fucks about my vote and if voting counted it would be illegal), or just something that I wish they'd switch, eventually I unfollow. I've never intended to hurt anyone's feelings but I understand how it works sometimes.

It's rare, extremely rare, rarer than the rarest Tuna Tartar you've ever sampled in your button pushing existence, but it happens. And that's about the time I realize it's all my fault. Had I not brought my only feeling to the internet with me, it wouldn't have been crushed so easily by the button.

Don't mind the unfollowing its opening the post box to fuckin letter bombs that gets irritating. (That and random dick pics still not comfortable with Discord, NO ONE TOLD ME that if you don't put a profile pic up your into that kinda thing).

But That shiny unfollow button, meh. Every time I get a new follower I go woohoo and every time someone unfollows, I don't mind. Means maybe I said something offensive or something. Nothing new there doc.

Aint gonna sweat it too much, think most of my buddies in day to day life wish they had an unfollow or mute button for me sometimes.

Still some people get touchy I guess.

Also a side question, since I'm here and its kinda on topic, I noticed I somehow seem to be upvoting my posts without clicking on it, as well as other posts. How the hell does that work?

Let's get a few little things outta the way first like it's all my fault and had I not brought my only feeling with me to the internet, I probably wouldn't have noticed they unfollowed and muted me so... Fool me once shame on me. <- That's how that saying goes.

I was just telling Glen I wrote about myself metaphorically, of course, why I'd never unfollow someone because they put up the same exact shit political content every single day or stupid ass memes I feel wasted valuable seconds of my life each time they're in my feed. This paragraph appears to be aggressive when all I intended it to say wais it's for the kids. Hopefully maybe today there's one less teenage suicide over a fucking butting. One more and then we'll get your account straightened out:

Discord, NO ONE TOLD ME that if you don't put a profile pic up your into that kinda thing.

I had no fucking clue!

Now then.. about your votes. Have you ever been to hive.vote and followed curation trails? You ever signed into hive.vote at all? I just checked out your voting history at https://hivetasks.com/@rubido and everything looks good to me, I don't see you randomly voting at small percentages which would likely mean you're following a curation trail.

Sign into that hivetasks page and let me know if you see anything out of the ordinary. Well, answer my hive.vote question first and then do the other thing, there's gonna be a test. We'll get your account figured out.. @dandays - The Luckiest Guy I Know is on standby.

ahh I checked out the Hive.vote thing a while back but it didn't make sense to my left gerbil brain, I couldn't figure it out...To be fair, clicked a few buttons tried to work it out and gave up pretty quick.

https://hivetasks.com/@rubido That shits like fingerprints, I now have prints taken in 6 counties and on Hive, guess that should count as a win.

I was just telling Glen I wrote about myself metaphorically, of course, why I'd never unfollow someone because they put up the same exact shit political content every single day or stupid ass memes I feel wasted valuable seconds of my life each time they're in my feed.

Never thought you'd be upset by something so trivial, I admire your ability to get your TONE and Rhythm across in your writing. Still adapting to typing not talking out my ass.

I got a Teenage sister who likes to share the memes, and half assed propaganda, and weird fish faced selfies. I've heard her ramble on for fuckin EVER cause someone thumbs down or unliked or whatever platform she's on.

Shame I love the kid or it'd be easier to ignore her.

Keep the Peace and enjoy the coming sun, and thanks as always for the advice and tips @dandays

My pleasure! Thanks for keeping an eye on me. Those tools I gave you, that's what they are, "tools," you'll begin to catch these terms. Nobody knew how to do backflips when we got here man. But if you at least know how to get there, you'll better learn the ins and outs of the chain. Eh.. at least you found us. 👍🏿

I ain't done with you yet. Brother. The part about being real and talkin out your ass, there's a fine line there, finer than a fine g-string.' You can quote this: 'If talking out your ass is what you do then let'em fuckin rip!'

I'd unfollow a lot of people on my list for the lack of activity or producing content I don't want to see as they changed their stuff. But half the time I just wait for them to be inactive for weeks before doing that or just live with the cancer on my newsfeed.

It's just that some people take the button seriously instead of accepting this happens often than they think irl only without the notification. Its not like every follower you got cares about your stuff or is into checking out their newsfeed frequently. But you know, irrational humans and emotions.

I know some may take some hurt if I unfollowed them so better to just scroll down than burn bridges. Who knows, maybe you end up wanting to see their activity again.

Good morning Adamada! If never seen you round these parts and now I'm gonna have to insist you stop by more often. You don't have to answer that. Thanks for checkin this one out!

There's another paragraph here I didn't include. The one where I know better than to bring my only feeling with me to the internet so when it gets crushed, it's my fault. But the kids and the teenagers and the masses of too many people cutting their wrist over a button (6 letters, it's just a word) these days is pitiful. Hopefully maybe today there's one less.

Enjoy the rest of your week and thanks for stopping by. My door's always open.

Cool. I try to browse my feeds, community feeds, and check on other users I follow and not. There's a lot to cover with so little time to be on the platform. Heck, this place is my new social media activity as I moved away 90% of my time off other centralized platforms.

Jsplatts gave the recommendation to follow you and I knew about you years back when Steemit was a thing. Good to see familiar faces still active here.

This is the first thing I read this morning and I don't think I could've began this morning any better. That was pleasant! Thank you, I appreciate that. Insert your favorite gratitude phrase here ________.

Splatts is a good dude, he and I are both IBEW, he's one of the first people I began engaging with here however long ago that was and he's been so supportive of me ever since. His family is lucky to have him.

Since you mention migrating your social media, something you may not know about me.. I've still never spent a fraction of a second on any other platform, not one second. I don't know how to sign in or get in or whatever it's called to the Face one, instawhatever it's called, none of'em. What you're seeing is my first and only attempt at socialwhatever it's called.

Thanks for stopping by, @adamada, your comment made my day and I just woke up—first cup of coffee still.

Unfollow, what's the fun in that? It's way more fun to mess with people, I can count on one mutilated hand the number of times I've unfollowed something/someone on social media.

I'm still not quite sure what dubstep is but after that remix I want no part of it! I'm fond of the original, I swear it has to be the most cheerful, upbeat songs about school shootings...

I swear it has to be the most cheerful, upbeat songs about school shootings...

As much as I shouldn't Lololl. Llooll.. right here I'm surprised you're the only one who mentioned that! Thought for sure a couple people would be like "you know that's about Columbine, right?"

I've been mentioning in these responses how I intentionally left a paragraph out. The one about how I used myself metaphorically and I've never done such a thing and this is for the kids and teenagers and and and anyone else who feels compelled to off their self over a... button. :breathe:

Good morning Jehtro, thanks for checkin this one out!

Dubstep. Just to give you a better understanding, at least you'll have more reason to dislike it if nothing else. Electronica, obviously, a dude named Mickey Finn accidentally doubled the tempo of a "break beat" (like Midnight Star - 'No Parking On The Dance Floor' - "break beat") back in the 80's. He called it "drum n bass" Cuz he's a drummer/DJ and from that evolved Jungle, Downtempo, and a whole shit load of electronic genres.

Then in maybe just the past 10 years, DJ's and artists began cutting that 80's drum n bass beat more than half, like 60-70% of the original tempo but are really emphasizing that 808 drum and all those 90's analogue sounds and, "Tada!!" Dubstep.

avatar

Lol, I'm kinda surprised nobody else brought that up. Then again it was my age group that really made school shootings a thing...

I only know what an 808 is because Alabama 3 referenced it in a song and I had to look it up (if you've never heard of them you should check them out, they're an 'acid house country' band out of England, Sopranos theme song was one of their tunes).

Guitar licks are usually what draw me into a song so I largely ignored the electronic stuff, I may have to pay it a little more attention...

Send me one of your favorite Alabama 3 tracks if you don't mind. There isn't much I don't listen to. I'm not a big fan of the cover song, too much snare havin "punk rock" but then Bad Religion and Social Distortion is labeled "punk rock" and they're dope so I'm not sure. Otherwise I'm hip to a lot of it.

I listen to classical in the mornings, Mozart type shit with my coffee. By breakfast I've probably switched through some reggae and 70's rock. Just depends on the weather I guess.

The best way I'f explain an 808 is it's that bass you don't hear, you feel it. The really low drums and they typically have a heavy synth on top so that low feeling, make your nose itch type bass lingers.

0

avatar

I can't do it! Pick just one that is...

My friend Molly likes this one a lot

This one was the one the Sopranos used I think

They've had some lineup changes since this come out but they can switch it up pretty good

I listen to a little bit of everything but it's a bit weighted towards rock, particularly old hard rock/metal. It's also nothing to go from Sabbath to Bill Monroe and then follow that up with some Leadbelly.

I've been to shows where I've felt the bass like that at the very least...

Thanks Jethro!

Damn dude, seems I can't shut up. I've seen Sabbath three times, once with Ozzy, once with Tony Martin and once with Dio but I can not tell this story any different than I've ever told it.

When I mention my Sabbath shows the part that sticks out the most was Sabbath with Dio and not cuz of Sabbath. Oh my fuck dude! Megadeath opened for them that night. I'd been a fan, always liked them, but I didn't own their music or anything. After that show.. went out the next day and purchased every.single Megadeath album. Chilling just thinkin about it.

Dave Mustain KILLED IT that night!

'Hello me, meet the real me!'

Sabbath and Megadeth in one night? I'm fucking jealous. I had a similar experience with Aerosmith, had heard and liked their music my whole life but not enough that I'd bother to buy it, then went to a show as a lark. Those fuckers could play.

It just occurred to me that I may have lied...I may have listened to dubstep before. Check out Tom Morello's (from Rage Against The Machine) Atlas Underground, it's him jamming out with a bunch of other artists.

^Lead track off the album, it's a lyric video in a literal sense, the song is instrumental with the lyrics just in the video. Bassnectar, Killer Mike, Gary Clark Jr, a whole slew of others are on the other tracks.

Man I hate to be that guy but when concerts are involved, I've just been to a lot, no idea how many performers I've seen. "Hundreds." Anywho.. seen Aerosmith twice. Once when they were not sober and once when they were sober.....

That sober show SUCKED!! The damn venue didn't even sell beer that night. Sucked.

I have tried to stop using the Follow button, it causes to much drama for some people. I do use the list function - A LOT - on peakd. So if I feel like listening to something I go to my music list, yes there is other content to sort through, after all even artist do non musical post. If I feel like tossing a vote to people I delegated to to help get started I run through that list, list do save me a lot of time when it comes to what I am in the mood for. I my follow list, I get enough content to satisfy me and some re-blogs of new people I have not seen. All pretty much drama free. So far no system glitches from the list function.

I haven't tried your technique yet but I'm always up for new tricks. And nice use of back-to-back to's too, two of'em, well played.

Good evening @bashadow, I just checked your page to see if it's evening where you are but you're too anonymous so... 'good time of day!'

I'm always hearing about kids these days and how they're depressed, cutting their wrists, everything else over a button. I lost followers for good awhile back, never heard from'em since, and it wasn't even me who initiated all the unfollows. Hopefully something like this article makes unfollows a little more funny and a lot less serious.

Thanks for droppin me a line! Enjoy the rest of your week.

They treat the unfollow button (6 letter word, button, that's all it is) like the person who clicked it is the bus driver who made their kid cry cuz she stopped in a mud puddle and the spoiled rotten brat didn't wanna dirty up his Rainbow Bright Light Special Edition Pumped Up kicks so he pouted like a cry baby punk ass kid before throwing a temper tantrum like he's been doing since infancy to which she laughed hysterically

HAHAHAHHAHAHHA!

I follow, I also unfollow, and upvote my own posts, because my shit is too good. Sometimes I realize someone isn't following me (cough cough @lizelle), so I unfollow them, and poof they follow me again, and then I follow them back 😁 like nothing happened.

Hahah no worry, I am not sensitive at all about it. I see Unfollow/follow as a game of supply and demand. If people see a value at a certain time, and there's reciprocity, we can help each other. If quality drops, I have no problem if people unfollow me, and I will do better next time to convince them to come back!

Yooo! Good morning. Your content is absolutely worthy of your own vote my man. It's not you it's me, you've done nothing to deserve this, this is all my fault and everything you're doing is right.... I need to be more like you.

How'd that sound, believable?

:confession: I'm reminded regularly about kids and a whole slew of humans in general but mainly kids who are "depressed" or worse—suicide. And it's all over a fucking button so it leads me to a combination of concerned and embarrassed. We've allowed the younger generations to become so dependent on their phone they not only can't communicate in public but they think virtual/fantasy is real. It's not—not even spelled the same. All the stuff about my voting techniques and whatever else I said was fluff, my main point was 'it's just a button.'

Happy whateverday this is! Thanks for the reblog. What you got goin today? "Erp!" (tires chirped)

I just went to the mountains to find something call "Pap" 😁 I can't tell more about it, search online or ask me on whatsapp!

As you say people are endorphin crack heads, that's a fact!

Good morning. This is a subject that we have talked about in the past. A few months ago I asked you about unfollowing some people and your advise was do what you want, if you are no longer interested in their stuff, why follow. The conversation went something like that. Well before I had a chance to par down my list of 112 people that I was following the computer did it for me.
About two months ago I opened up my #hive account and it said that I was not following anyone. A little panic set in and I waited a day to see in the matter would correct itself. The next day it still said that I was still following 0, like in no one.
At that point I started to refollow all of the folks I could remember.
Presently my follow list is at 51. A few people asked me why I was no longer following and an explanation was necessary. Occasionally I'll run into a post and realize that person was on my follow and immediately refollow.
From 112 to 51, that is a big difference.
I'm sure that there are some folks that I would like to follow again, but many of them are people that I didn't engage with and that's the reason I can't recall them.
The positive thing about the computer deleting my follow list is that it gave me lots of room to start following some new people.

It is only a button, but I wish that pushing it would have been left up to me, not the computer gods.

Have yourself a great day.

My man! Good morning Sweed, I see you must be staying warm upstate, figured that's what you were doing.

I remember you telling me that. I guess I didn't realize the severity of it at the time, zero?? I've never heard that from anyone except you. What a weird glitch. I dig your silver lining in the whole thing.

Everyone's too sensitive over clicks these days, Bob. I can't emphasize too enough. They're burning down houses, cutting wrists, hijacking and kidnapping all Cuz someone unfollowed them or disliked them or however the :click: of a button translates. I see these stories and it's alarming.

Thanks a lot for checkin this one out @thebigsweed, always a pleasure when you stop by. Always a pleasure knowing I got your support. And I remember that unfollow.... shoot, you followed me back so quickly I knew it was just a bug.
