Koalas photos at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Gday hive,
Recently I was fortunate to see a koala in the wild at stradbroke island in Queensland Australia which I will share a post about that in the coming days.
But today I would like to share with you some shots I took last weekend at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in Queensland Australia.
Now the koala is one of the most iconic Australian animals.. Also know to the locals as drop bears.
But unfortunately due to bad political decisions and greed alot of their natural habitat has been wiped out by land clearing .
And destroyed by devastating bush fires. Which unfortunately has put koalas on the endangered species list
So it's a great thing when you get to see a koala in the wild.
But places like the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is home to over 50 koalas with a breading program and also an animal hospital which treats over 500 sick or injured koalas each year.
I took these shots on my Sony A7 III with a Tamron 28 -75mm lens
