Mineral Mondays #65 Mineral Photography
I haven't been blogging much about minerals since I came back to Japan, but we have a big show coming up in a few weeks so I'm getting ready for that and I thought I'd share some of the recent minerals we are offering.
A beautiful & rare Pink Spencer Opal.
Both the pink and the white opal has nice fire to it. The piece is about 1" round.
The always cool magnetite crystal.
These are very rare and I only have 2 left in my collection. We just sold this one.
Barite crystals from Colorado.
Very nice, terminated barite crystals. Colorado produces great specimens.
Tri-color, terminated tourmaline pencil from the Himalaya mine, San Diego County, CA. I dug this one out myself.
A gorgeous specimen ready to be set as a pendant just the way it is. No faceting needed.
I acquired a ton of benitoite recently with a lot being "stonies". This is a very strange stony in which the crystals flattened and layered on top of one another.
A stony is an impure benitoite with crossiste mixed in.
A nice fire agate from Blythe, California.
Fire agates are chalcedony with iron inclusions that when polished give a beautiful red, orange and green iridescence.
The beautiful turquoise blue colored aurichalcite.
This piece comes from the Reward Mine in Inyo Co., CA.
Apple green apatite with white chalcedony and grey magnetite matrix.
Lastly, this cool little zoned(two toned) fluorite with calcite crystals from the famous Cave In Rock mine, Illinois.
Unfortunately the calcite crystals broke off when I was flying back to Japan so I had to repair it. Looks like it never happened though!
All photos taken by my wife and I on our Canon EOS M50 & iPhone 11.
Your crystals are just so beautiful! I'm drawn to aurichalcite! 😍
