MY WORKSHOP EXPERIENCE WITH ENGINEERING MACHINES

I am opportuned to be here again in the community just to talk about my workshop experience in my engineering field as we have been doing most of the theory work from the very start of the semester and as an engineer you have to practicalize what you've been taught so you won't be a novice when you get to the field where supervisor will be there to check out what you can do yourself. I remember the last post I made what about surveying of land where I talked about some instrument which we used in chain surveying, so today we had another workshop practice which is another practical and this time around we went to the shop where machines are kept and are used for engineering operations.

Nowadays we see a lot of engineers who graduate and can't operate a machine even though they graduate with a first class degree or an high-grade. today's practical was about the machines which are used to carry out different operations and I will be listing them below and talk about some of their uses as I continue in the post, it is not an easy work to operate those machines because they require Professional care and some precautions I needed to be followed so as to make the machines work effectively without any faults. So work on the field is totally different from work in the workshop because if some precautions are not taken it can cause damage and accidents which can cost life.

So some of the machines which I was able go take the picture even in the workshop as busy as it was were

• The lathe machine
• Grinding machine
• Pillar drilling machine
• Horizontal milling machine
• Guillotine machine
• Bending machine

It takes a lot of time to be able to operate this machines so anyone operating it means that he or she is a professional who knows the rules and the care of the machine. The first machine which are listed for lathe machine, this machine has a lot of function and can perform different operations on it, it can be used for drilling and also it can be used for grinding, another function of this lathe machine is that it can be used for boring holes in a work piece also tapping. More function on it but the few is okay, this machines cannot be carried everywhere because they are very heavy so they are stationed at a place.

The bending machine are used for making a bend for irons and other workpiece which need to make a bend, the pillar drilling machine already talk about what it is used for from the name so not talking too much on it it is used for drilling holes and a pillar and it make work faster also. each of these machines have their functions that are different from each other and that is why they have their own purpose in the workshop.
