The future of Cosmic observations

The James Webb space telescope will be the main deep space observatory for the next decade, it will multiply the capacity of telescopes like Hubble, it will help us discover new exoplanets, especially small worlds the size of the earth that with our current technology are very difficult to detect. be able to find and even more interesting the james webb will be able to capture the atmospheres of these worlds to analyze their composition.

Experts believe that this could accelerate the search for life in space and help scientists to discriminate between those planets with life and those that do not have life, this will be possible because life at least that we know alters the composition of the atmosphere of a planet creating a combination of very special gases, we could say that life smells and that smell is what forms the gases of a planet with life, for example, on earth if life did not exist it would surely be a planet with much less oxygen and more CO2 would be a more venus-like world.

If james webb locates a planet of a size like the earth orbiting a star like the sun at the appropriate distance to have a temperate temperature and its atmosphere matches the combination of gases that we can find on earth, then it could never be firmly affirm that it has life, but we could be very close to being able to affirm it with 100% certainty.

Unfortunately, a new date has been given to put the James Webb Space Telescope into orbit, the previously scheduled date was October 31 but now the launch is delayed to December 18, hopefully this launch will not suffer more inconveniences because the James Webb it is destined to play a very important role in the investigation of the cosmos.
