The OSIRIS-REX nasa probe successfully completed one of those main objectives, obtaining samples from the surface of the asteroid Bennu.
La sonda de la nasa OSIRIS-REX consiguió completar con éxito uno de esos objetivos principales, conseguir muestras de la superficie del asteroide Bennu.
The asteroid Bennu is a gem for the scientific community, the reason is that it contains materials that have undergone very little change since its origin more than 4,000 million years ago, which opens a very interesting window to explore the most primitive solar system, but not only that and it could also contain some of the ingredients that made life possible on earth, a kind of recipe book to create life.
El asteroide Bennu constituye toda una joya para la comunidad científica, la razón es que contiene materiales que han sufrido muy pocos cambios desde su origen hace más de 4.000 millones de años, lo que abre una ventana muy interesante para explorar el sistema solar más primitivo, pero no sólo eso y es que también podría contener algunos de los ingredientes que hicieron posible la vida en la tierra, una especie de libro de recetas para crear vida.

Last October, after four years since its launch in Cape Canaveral, the OSIRIS-REX spacecraft finally managed to touch the surface of Bennu, the objective of the mission is to collect a small amount of dust and stone, at least 60 grams and hit the road back home in a few months to arrive in 2023 and drop his valuable sample somewhere in the Iuta desert, enabling earth scientists with the incredible equipment we have here that cannot be taken to the space to study the samples, a great task that if achieved will involve new questions and answers about the formation of the solar system and who knows, perhaps also about our own existence.
El pasado mes de octubre tras cuatro años desde su lanzamiento en cabo cañaveral la nave espacial OSIRIS-REX logró por fin tocar a la superficie de Bennu, el objetivo de la misión es recoger una pequeña cantidad de polvo y piedra, al menos de 60 gramos y emprender el camino de vuelta a casa en unos meses para llegar en 2023 y dejar caer su valiosa muestra en algún lugar del desierto de Iuta, permitiendo a los científicos de la tierra con el increíble equipamiento que tenemos aquí y que no se puede llevar al espacio estudiar las muestras, un gran cometido que de lograrse supondrá nuevas preguntas y respuestas sobre la formación del sistema solar y quién sabe, quizá también sobre nuestra propia existencia.
