excellent and interesting post. you put a lot of efforts into it.

I heard about chirality but never investigated it in details.
I remember how a teacher (organic chemistry) at university gave us a compound
responsible/imitating the smell of the bread. It indeed smelt like a bread.
I guess it's a little unfortunate that modern food manufactures sort of abuse/misuse the power
of organic chemistry and fill the food with so many chemicals to imitate the taste and aroma/fragrance
to attract more customers,
and posts like this one can remind us about it and be cautious about some synthetic products and
pay more attention to organic food (real fruits and vegetables) and enjoy real flowers.

I totally agree. Sometimes the real fragrance is really difficult to recognize because the chemistry molecule is exactly the same!
I'm really interested in molecular kitchen, or the preparations of food which look something but, when you eat them, they actually are something different. It's very cool but also scary!
