It's not always possible to go through Kotter's steps in sequence, but from experience I've learned that informing, convincing and coaching people first is necessary before starting anything. Your thoughts?

My thoughts are that what system you use and what variation doesn't really matter as long as you know what you're doing and it's working.

The outcome is indeed what's important, but you'll also need to take into consideration if you want it to be done at a certain date or if you want to close it off in a sustainable way and that it'll be self-sufficient.

I do agree that certain steps could be combined, especially when you need to work with a deadline and in some situations - like with Covid-19 - you just have to take action. Flexibility is key in those instances.

Exactly, so sometimes the system is important, but certain aspects of it need to be adjusted to the situation at hand.
