Math mini-contest problem for Day 3 π
A get-together of 10 D.Buzz members plus @chrisrice and @emafe (for a total of 12 people) is done seated around a round table. If every attendee's seat is random, what is the probability that @chrisrice is seated beside @emafe?

My answer is 2/11 or 18.18%.
You're right! I didn't think of the second seat!

I agree with @jfang003
12(11)/2 = 66 possible pairs of seats
12/66 = 0.1818 = 18.18%
Don't get the win but I get to solve it my way.π
Nice! π

Good job βοΈ

I am not good at math lol

But you are great at analyzing prices in trading and investing! π€
I guess you've never met a dumb blonde who can calculate 33% off a $117.68 dress on sale faster than a supercomputer.π
I think I am more good at logic, not in a math problem solving π€

Maybe I should make you answer logic riddles instead! π€π
That's pattern recognition & departing one's emotions from their trades more than it is about math IMO @savvyplayer

you got it @chrisrice, I may not good at expressing my thoughts but you can explain very well ππ

I was going to say 1/11, but @jfang003's comment made me realize there are two seats and not one adjacent to our friend @ chrisrice. So 2/11...

I'm not good at math either π

Thanks for replying! I just tagged you and @chrisrice to make the Math problem more engaging for D.Buzz members! π
Posted via D.Buzz
Yeah, and I think it was a good idea.

I know the chance of @chrisrice being seated at any of the particular chairs, after they all sit down, is 1 out of 12 π
@edje, are you good at math?
Posted via D.Buzz
Hmmm..... The chance of @chrisrice being seated on any of the chairs after all have seated, is 1 out of 1 or 100%. π€ππ
Any PARTICULAR chair, meaning if one chair is specified there is a 1/12 chance he is sitting there π
Posted via D.Buzz
You said any
of the particularchairs. You also did not say if you specified any chair before everyone got seated. π€It's what I meant, but I may have worded it in an ambigious or unclear way βοΈ

Oftentimes, exact sciences like Mathematics require strictness to deliver the messages accurately. π€
Hmmm, is mathematics one of your strong points?
Posted via D.Buzz
Maybe you could ask that on Discord instead. π€ I'm too shy (again) to tell those facts about me publicly. π°

Answer for Day 3 Problem
2/11 or 18.18% π―
Either the fraction or percentage is accepted as correct answer.
There will be 11 seats remaining after @chrisrice gets seated, and @emafe should be seated beside @chrisrice in either his left or right, which is 2 out of 11 possible chances.
Winner: @jfang003 π
1 HIVE has been sent to @jfang003's account as reward. π°
