I say something much worse. Something much scarier.
Imagine someone hacking the thing, while you control a device, and the hacker starts controlling you (and/or your thoughts).
They can take your money, your secrets, they can humiliate you, or make you work for them for free, and they can make you forget the whole thing. The possibilities are endless from little jokes to the most cruelest things.
I dont even want to imagine this. Ok I get the idea that in some cases it can help the humanity, but as u mentioned I guess it can make more harm. But as I see nobody dont want to stop this so we can wait what will happen. I know that I will stay far for sure from people somewhere in a small province for sure. Far from the technology.
I am not surprised. I heard this technology is also being developed to help those disabled people. Though those AI will probably run most of society since its easier for a machine to keep track of everything then paying for a human to do so.
Yes this is what they are saying that they built it to help disabled people. But do you think some others they dont try to use it for something absolutely different?
I wanna believe the first version but I am also realistic and I know that we have to experience also the dark side of this technology :(
There will always be a dark side of technology. Just like how much I don't want Facebook, Google or any of the big tech corporations sending and receiving things in my mind, the technology is still great for disabled people. I prefer an open source alternative but it will take quite a while since the big tech corporations have put in billions of dollars in for private research.
