The rationale that makes you deny the coronavirus dangers is exactly the same that makes you deny the dangers of the climate change: convenience and wishful thinking.

Sadly true. Convenience has replaced logic is this day and age. In recent development- a painting contractor I was working for entered an elderly clients home without a mask. When the client asked them to wear them, he laughed and said "Oh no, it's ok, I don't believe in that shit"

I quit on the spot. Incredible how ignorant people can be; even when entering an at-risk person's(and clients) home and laughing when the subject comes up.

Many people just believe science when it doesn't contradict what they prefer to believe. Inconvenient truths are lies to them.

I don't deny the dangers of COVID. I think we may be overly cautious. But, I recognize the dangers.

With climate, I accept that it changes. I doubt humans have as much impact as claimed. There's no control Earth to test any hypothesis.

Science is about doubt and testing.

So you don't believe the Big Bang Theory either?

It's not a matter of belief. Science requires indifference. Big Bang is just a THEORY to explain some of the observations we have made of the universe. At best, we can observe evidence that suggests the Big Bang. We can never know for certain. Nor is there any way we can test it with another universe. For the moment, Big Bang is commonly accepted. I'd be willing to accept new discoveries that confirm or refute BBT.

So you think the Einsten's Theory of Special and General Relativity are just two theories too? And what about the Theory of Evolution?

It has nothing to do with me. Scientific theories are subject to change, unlike scientific laws.

Science requires a degree of skepticism in order to keep advancing.
More to your original point, none of this is convenient nor wishful thinking. Life would be simpler if I were more dogmatic about science. But, then that would no longer be science.

Every scientific conclusion are subject to change because they are all necessarily falsifiable. But just because they are falsifiable does not mean that they are false, or "just theory", or "just hypothesis". It just means that you will always be able to at least try to falsify them. But they are scientific consensus.
