Mozilla laid off 25% of their staff but secured $400-$450 million per year deal from Google for next 3 years to have Google as their default search engine. I personally stick with Brave.

Yeah, good insight, it seems like #FireFox has been comprimised by #Politics & money 😕

It's not that corrupt. They just don't have a good funding model. Devs have their heads in some hippie utopia and haven't worked on the economics like BAT or other crypto projects are doing. They are finally brging in some services like VPN to make some money.

I’m using Brave Browser with DuckDuckGo as my primary search engine and getting by just fine.

Best thing is Brave offers DuckDuckGo as default instead of suckin ypto Google to get their money to fund Brave development. They made $35 Million USD from ICO. They also take a cut from ads. That's a lot better funding model.

I hope this model is used more. Advertising-focused models have run their course. Time to try new methods.

You should check out https://webmonetization.org I've Hunted it for steemhunt.com recently. The ad focused model has enough ethical competitors that are actually very affordable. We are at a point in hisotry to push for change!
