with the disclaimer that the picture isn't clear enough to see it's structure: it looks too big and too bazophilic to be a gametocyte so I don't think it's malaria. A more detailed picture would be nice

Limitation of the camera on the phone.

Also, I don't think it's a gametocyte. Leaning towards merozoite. Fortunately, we are able to pick out ring forms in other fields later.

that changes things a lot, didn't see any rings forms in that field and you didn't mention them
