Good question. Maybe it has something to do with the current political climate? I mean, timeless and old ideas were either erased or made obsolete because many of them didn't conform to modern sensibilities, or fit some people's agenda.

Yeah, that too... But I think people will do that regardless of age. Every era & culture has its own normal thinking. Since people can't know everything they chose to learn only the things that fit their own society.
Old ideas only matter to the extra curious!
