Have you ever considered yourself as a person made out of glass that's likely to shatter into pieces? No, this is not a philosophical question but rather a manifestation of a delusion suffered by the wealthy in Europe during the 15th to 17th century. It's called 'Glass Delusion.'

Glass delusion is a psychological disorder suffered by the wealthy and educated classes during the meddle ages and early modern period. Sufferers of this mental disorder were fearful of being touched by other people because they believed that they're made of glass.

No. If I fail at something, I just need to pick myself up and do better next time. So I see no reason of being fearful of being touched by others.

That's a good mentality. That said, the "glass delusion" was a mental illness so it's kinda difficult for those afflicted to control their fear.
