Math often makes my brain feel like exploding. Fortunately, I wasn't the only one who felt that way which means that I'm normal. What's NOT normal though was the extreme fixation on numbers to the point that numbers dictates how a person lives his life. It's called "arithmomania.

People with arithmomania would often execute their daily lives in certain ways. For example, people would brush their teeth, wash their hands, close doors in even numbers due to aversion for odd numbers. While some would set their alarm clocks, thermostat etc., in odd numbers.

Wow what a cool fact. I hope I can remember that word 😅. Ever heard of Dyscalculia? That's the equivalent of Dyslexia for numbers.

I also have problems with numbers; not going to lie. So if I had tests with a lot of numbers I should start months beforehand to practice and study the theory behind it all.

Yeah, I heard that Dyscalculia is Math learning disability that impairs a person's ability to learn Math related concept. Quite the annoying disability to have to be honest since Math is pretty much omnipresent.

I'm also pretty weak at Math and need to study a lot just to understand Math formulas and whatnot. Still, compared to individuals with dyscalculia, we're still better off.

I know what you mean. The whole world revolves around math and/or numbers, so having that would really give that person a hard time to function and not to mention the stress or low self esteem that might come from it.

Oh, about the studying for math related subjects, I've found enough videos on YouTube that helped me with the formulas. During class I understood the teacher, but when at home and trying the formulas myself I really got stuck and the books didn't help either. Some books were student friendly, while others were like Greek to me 😅, but the videos really helped me out to understand the theories and the reasonings behind it.

Lmao! My experience in Math pretty much mirrors that of your own. Honestly, it's really difficult to study Math without a teacher guiding us😅

Hahahaha ok glad to see I'm not the only one struggling with this phenomenon, because really I have people around me who could just read the books and understand it in a whim.

I really envy those kind of people. If only I my brain was as good as theirs 😭

Haha I understand the feeling. Back when I was doing a little bit of research on some math related questions, I had to deal alot with proofs and they were obviously not fun.

I know right? What's worse was that we need to practice them all the time least we end up forgetting what we'd learned so far.

Very true. I usually have to loop up various things as I forget them after a while.
