I never thought that getting a Used/Refurbished Laptop is the preferred method for many people.

    I find that even when a laptop is too old to run Windows well, it does well enough with Linux. Personally, I am comfortable with doing my work at the command line.

    Yeah, I mainly use Windows. Only tried Linux on USB boot before. Linux is the less demanding platform.

    I plan on having Linux in my current Laptop after moving to a more powerful one.

    In a home network, Linux works great as a print or file server.
