The funny thing is, it's not made by Nintendo... They just allowed it on the eShop at whatever price the publisher has set. That's the weird thing...
There's already a $10 Piano app on the eShop so they thought a Calculator isn't much of a stretch of the idea.

You can't argue that releasing such a thing will get many people on the internet talking... Some people will buy out of curiosity. The name of the publisher will get known more.
It's a stupid, but working business strategy... Not that it's a good one for the long term.

The world is sometimes pretty strange in a way.. like the views for strange videos are high while those that are good for humanity gets lower views.. But I don't think you would buy it... 10 USD is alot for an app that my phone has.
I agree... I can see why:
"good for humanity" vids remind most people of their own "dark side," while funny videos offer a good distraction... Sad, but a normal human psyche..
