What is a search engine?

A search engine is a technology that allows you to search for any information, image or video in the Internet world. It is designed to provide Internet users with accurate search information. Search engines use a special type of robot called a web crawler or search robot or search spider. This robot always travels from one page on the Internet to another and in the same way from one website to another and collects various information. When users search for a topic in a search engine, the information crawled by the web crawler is displayed on the results page by word or phrase.

What is SEO?

The full form of SEO is search engine optimization. SEO is an integrated approach to multiple tasks that comply with search engine algorithms or rules. This is an attempt to show a website or a specific page of a website at the top of the search results page. In today's internet world it is impossible to get visitors or traffic without SEO. Websites are usually ranked by SEO. SEO plays a very important role in increasing the number of website users.

Types of SEO:

Organic SEO: Doing free SEO is called organic SEO. It does not require any money. This type of SEO is done through word research and link building.
Paid SEO: Doing SEO for money is called paid SEO. Basically this type of SEO is done through advertising.
SEO tasks can be divided into three parts. Onpage, technical and offpage. Web crawlers focus on these three things. Content inside the website is called onpage. Technical also refers to the content of the website, but it is different. Technical refers to technical issues. And offpages are topics outside of the website.

Notable among OnPage SEO topics are:

The title of the website
Meta description of the website
Website meta keyword tag
Titles/names of the images used on the website
Alt tags in images used on the website
The caption of images used on the website
Interaction between different pages of the website
External links to other websites
Connected words etc.
Notable technical SEO topics include:

Website speed
Mobile friendly
Indexing
Site architecture
Structured data
Security etc.
Notable among the topics of offpage SEO are:

Sharing on social platforms
Number of backlinks or links to other websites etc.
The main goal of SEO is to make the website attractive to search engines by ensuring these things. In addition, the work of SEO is done by submitting the website to different search engines, placing advertisements on different websites, etc. Recently, search engines have been ranking websites with an emphasis on popularity on social platforms. In this case, the more popular the website on the social platform, the more likely it is that the website will be at the top of the search engine. Search engines know what kind of information users are looking for, what kind of problems they want to solve through SEO. It is also known what kind of keywords are used to find information and solve problems. SEO can easily solve these problems for the users.

Hello @ahp93

This is @fionasfavourites from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive - congratulations and welcome! It would also be awesome if you could do an introduction post, so our community can get to know you better. For an example of what an intro post is like, you can check out this one by my friend & curation team member - Keeping Up With the Buzz – My Introduction to the Hive Community.

Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests. Here's a link so you can check them all out – [Hive Communities] (https://peakd.com/communities).

Also since you're new, you may run into an RC (Resource Credits) error when trying to comment/post because you don't yet have enough Hive in your account yet. For assistance with a temporary delegation to get you started, be sure to check out the Gift Giver site.

Also, as this the hive can be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide is a growing repository of useful – easy to understand – posts about how the Hive ecosystem works.

For now, @lovesniper will follow your account and we are looking forward to seeing your intro post. Also, you are welcome to tag me (@fionasfavourites) and please mention @lovesniper in your intro post in order for us to be notified, so we can consider your post for OCD curation. Feel free to hop into the OCD Discord server if you have any questions!
