Our Complex Relationship With Tools And Technology

Our relationship with tools and technology has helped humans connect deeply with nature. I believe the first generation that lived started to connect with nature when they realized everything needed for their betterment was found in their immediate environment. With time they built complex tools hoping to ease their stress and their motive was to provide for themselves an easy life. Evolution came in with each generation building more complex devices. Over time people began to realize how powerful these tools can be and they started to use them for their advantages. History holds that the early men clinked stones to spark fire. I believe the primitive men used a lot of energy in sparkling fire and someone realized an easy way and later invented matches.

Technology must have started with curiosity while observing the natural happenings around us. The law of upthrust that led to building of ships must have started with a curious mind wondering how one object sinks and another floats likewise the invention of an airplane, from observing a flying bird. A few inventions were born from curiosity and random experiment while most of the inventions are divine wisdom upon men by supernatural beings. Noah in the bible had detailed instructions on how to build the ark that survived the great flood with thousands of animals in it without a shipwreck and while building a temple, God had told Moses he had equipped men in crafting and sculpturing.

We are currently in an information age where we interact with machines and tools on a daily basis. They cannot function without our intervention, nor can we carry out our task easily without using them. We need them as much as they need us and they've been able to shape our lives to think differently. Even though technology has eased our communication process, it has also denied us the peace of a private life. Imagine our information in a big database controlled by a group of people called the government who are using that information for their purposes. As our use of tools and technology is advancing, madness has also creeped in. Imagine living in a virtual world that seems real, that's it, technology is beginning to dive into areas that question our existence trying to exhort scientific discoveries. Everyone desires growth, and thanks to technology that has helped us experience this growth , however , it's also reaping us apart.

We become slaves to tools and technology that we can't control and that's where balance is required. We are currently in the 3G technological era, scientists are already creating robots and artificial intelligence, not to ease our work but to do our work thereby gradually selling our rights to machines eventually later in the future. The use of tools in the ancient days was for the benefit of men, but as generations come and go we're beginning to lose it all to machines. The use of advanced tools had denied many their source of livelihood. No doubt tools and technology had relieved men of what the stone age men suffered, but we've lost the beauty of a quiet life. We can't do without machines today but if technology continues in this pace with the thought of a virtual reality, artificial intelligence (AI) humans, and robots in mind, machines may one day start to decide for us how to live our lives.

I think they already do. This is a secret, but they already tell you what you have to do, what you have not realized hahaha.

I think the control for now is kinda limited, I hope it doesn't become so visible

Right from the time, humankind has always found the need to rely on tools in other to make our lives better but is now a bit scary how these tools are taking over us and dictating how we live our lives and interact with one another. If we did not strive to strike a balance a time will come when these so-called tools will take over and replaces us completely.

This is true, if balance is not put in place, the tools created might just be the start of our problem and gradually all this is already happening through robotics.
