The New Owner

Cats have a knack for finding comfortable spots in places where no one else would even think to look. Boxes, steps, shop windows, benches — it’s all been thoroughly explored. A scooter’s footrest works just fine too, especially when it has been kindly left unattended in the sun. And once a spot has passed feline verification, ownership becomes a rather flexible concept.

In cities with a healthy population of cats, it’s wise to accept that a bike, scooter, or motorcycle left unattended may well return with a new owner. And when that owner happens to be small, furry, and peacefully asleep, arguing your case suddenly feels unnecessary.
