Cheers! Today I went out in search of bugs to practice macro photography and traveled about 50 kilometers towards the Sorraya river, I had some time without being able to make Drone footage because it has been raining a lot in Portugal, literally every day! and today that it didn't rain I went out quickly to make a film using two batteries from my Mavic that more or less is equivalent to about 40 minutes of filming! We are going to see some common river animals and at the same time enjoy a beautiful landscape!๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŒ…

Dragonflies are very common insects in bodies of water, whether rivers or lagoons, we can practically find them in waters that can be totally clean or have some level of contamination! In the Sorraya River there are several species, we can find from red to some that look black, what attracts the insect to visit the rivers is for its food and that they must complete their life cycle using water since they have aquatic larvae!๐Ÿฆ‹๐ŸฆŸ๐Ÿฆ—

This river is one of the most important in Portugal because it is the one that has the largest hydrographic basin, it has more than 7000 km2, as you can see the frogs also live in the river but they are more specific in areas where the water is stagnant, they prefer water full of algae, they are part of the Sorraya river ecosystem and feed on insects and small invertebrates๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿธ

take advantage of the fact that the place is open to pilot drones without permission, for some time I wanted to perform some maneuvers such as recording from a driving vehicle and also pass the drone under a bridge! Now that I have achieved my goal, I am acquiring a little more practice and being able to measure the distance between the drone and an object, it is also my first time recording a river.

The river is very important in the area because it is used to irrigate more than 16,000 hectares of crops, it serves as a food source for some villages, if you could see in the video there were many fish swimming there that are the favorite prey of herons !๐Ÿงญ๐Ÿšฉ

I would never have guessed where you were, although I knew you weren't in the US. All of our bridges have training bars on them so that people don't fall off them! LOL

Great footage and I like all the tire marks dotting the area. Looks like a popular place to be. Nice shots of bug life! Right after the rain is best, isn't it?
