Hello! I am very happy to be present in this super community, today I bring a very interesting post because I visited a very beautiful city in the center of Portugal, it is actually a parish that bears the name "Bobadela", it is very small, it does not exceed 6 km squares in size and its population does not reach 800 people! therefore it would be a short visit but full of adventures!😮🚩🧭

A city full of history🙇‍♂️📚/Una ciudad llena de historia🧭🌍

There are many excavations in various parts of the city and over time many objects related to various civilizations have been discovered. It is believed that some nomadic populations inhabited Bobadela and came to inhabit some caves. Later, when the Roman Empire arrived in Portugal, it colonized the entire country. territory and the center of the country served to create some small towns where families with a very high social status lived! in the center of the country have been found from small theaters to thermal baths!🕵️‍♂️🤯

My first visit was in the "Roman Ruins" that represent the culture of the city for its legacy in the Roman power, they inhabited the city from the 1st century after Christ, until the 4th, therefore we are seeing pillars and an arch that they are almost a thousand years old! It was cataloged as a "National Monument" and it is a place with many excavations, the arch was built using Granite, it is more than 3 meters high! It is believed that this was one of the main entrances of the city, in addition there are historical records that Bobadelas was an interesting Roman commercial point!👨‍💻👨‍🎓👨‍🏫

The Roman ruins are located in the center of the city next to a beautiful church called: "Nossa senhora do Socorro" which is a chapel built in 1857. It was built because a legend tells that a miracle happened here in the city! After visiting the Roman arch I went to see some remains of walls that correspond to an amphitheater! It is interesting because we observed that travelers when they came here to rest had entertainment at their disposal in the amphitheater, it is also believed that it was used for gladiatorial combat!😬👨‍💻👨‍🎓

Oil museum🙇‍♂️📚/Museo del aceite🧭🌍

One of my favorite museums here in the center of the country is the oil museum! It was built in the year "2018" by a Portuguese businessman who has been working in the oil industry for more than 50 years, in the museum we will take a tour of all the phases of oil preparation starting with the collection of the "seed" and passing through the crushing, pressing, and packaging!👨‍🌾👩‍🌾👨‍🏫

Here we see some tools that are original used for the production of oil, the Roman civilization was the pioneer in perfecting many techniques to maximize the process, first as you can see they used a stone and a wooden beam that was moved manually, years later they modified it to be used by two people! and they came to create it with movement of the force of water!🤯🤯

The oil is one of those products that are thousands of years old, since the time of the Egyptians oils were already made, over time other products or aromatic herbs were added to create many different types of flavors, it is a trade that today generates a lot of employment and is the soul of Bobadela!🤩

Wow!

I too will visit a museum here in Philippines. I need to just make a few researches and ask around how to make it to where I'm going.
I'm excited to take images and of course share away on #Hive
