The Cornelian

I'd like to share some macro shots that I took with my phone camera while out walking late in the afternoon.

The beautiful butterfly perched on a leaf, flapping its wings like a little fairy who had strayed from heaven.

Those jet-black eyes bulged from its pure white face, and soft white hairs could be seen covering its thorax.

Something that resembles thread hangs down from the lower wing's tip. Where is the little fairy going? Where is the little fairy headed?

This is the Deudorix epijarbas , or cornelian butterfly. At first glance, it appears to be similar to the cupid butterfly, but it is only the color that distinguishes the two species, which are still related.

All of the images here are my own work, taken with Xiaomi POCO NFC smartphone and an assembled external macro lens.
