3D Print Test - Horse Man Monstrosity

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

This is a test print for my newly modified Ender 3 Pro.

Printed kinda rough. Need to adjust bed height and possible print settings.

Not sure honestly. I quite enjoyed this lapse though.

Nice looking Ender 3 pro! And cool time lapse!

Maybe the bed level is fine and Z-offset needs adjusting. Print travel speed being reduced makes a world of difference on the Enders too.

Best wishes with your 3D printing, and thanks for the recent follow!

Oh yeah, I just converted it to direct drive so I'm still figuring out the settings. Thanks for the tip on the Z-offset!

It's a pleasure! I look forward to seeing how you progress with this. I am interested in direct drive as well, due to the bowden tube issues that occur from retraction. I'm on the Ender 3 V2, and had to turn travel speeds down to 50 mm/s because the motherboard sucks and can't handle the voltage for 150 mm/s stock value, only took 8 months to figure out :D Not sure which board the pro ships with.

I have no clue which board it has but I've been reading about people pushing to 100mm/s. I printed this at 75mm/s as a test and it came out kinda rough. I guess it's all about testing to fine tune. I highly recommend going direct drive. You can 3D print all the parts necessary for the conversion!

The V4. 2.2 is the standard board for the Ender 3 V2 and the Ender 3 Pro (since April 2020). None of Creality's printers by default ship with the V4. 2.7, but it is available as a retail option

You have the same dreaded board as me. Try 50 mm/s and let me know how it works out. Ensure no speeds on your slicer exceed 50 mm/s.

I bet you will see an instant difference, if not, we have work to do :D

I'll give it a shot. I really wanna get it printing well at higher speeds but I guess I'll have to upgrade the board eventually.

My thoughts/feelings echo yours exactly. Sometimes I want to print mini so I don't have to wait so long.

I want to start a business out of this eventually, production time is a major consideration. It's a fun hobby too but a costly one after a while, so it would be nice to make some return.

Eventually I'll probably upgrade that board (or get another machine entirely). They run around $35.00 USD right now on average for the 4.2.7 , which isn't super pricey but some might beg to differ when the funds are tight.

Super cool that all the parts are printable for the direct drive too! Idk why but I like that big beastly print head look as well :D

Yeah I want to fine tune and start selling custom prints/designs so I can make some money back. Love it as a hobby but it can be pricey for sure. $35 isn't too bad, might have to spend some HBD and just do it!

The big part on the front is a Bullseye Duct, which is also completely 3D printable. Much better airflow right to the nozzle. Just don't make the mistake I did. Print with 100% infill if you're going to do it or it'll be flimsy and break 10 times lol. I'll drop the link for the direct drive kit and bullseye duct below. It's basically 3 pieces for direct drive then you can pick whichever air duct you want. The bullseye looks and performs awesome.
