Have You Seen the Real Robo-Cop in Singapore?

A camera-equipped remote-controlled robot patrols Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park in Singapore. The people are already panicking and terrified as it seems, maybe by time and if there are more awareness campaigns for such machines the public will have less fear.

But it's coming, soon enough all such prophecies we saw in the movies will happen.

This Robo Cop is just warning for social distancing, give it some time and it'll be armed just like how drones evolved, or it can be accompanied with a drone right now and then it's the end of humanity the way we know it and the rise of those who control the machines.

Yes @arabisouri, welcome to a glimpse of the future of the "new normal" in our "post COVID" world. From what I read here and there, China leads the world in the use of the various technologies intended to ensure "compliance" with the "Almighty" State's dictates on what constitutes a "good" citizen vs. a "bad one" ...

After all, by comparison "see something say something" (one citizen "turning in" another ...) is just way too inefficient and unreliable ...

What are your thoughts?

That's the reason why I shared this video here, China is catching up what the US has started long ago, very long ago. Nobody is near what the US and its minions have collected about every citizen on this planet.

Of course @arabisouri ...

"China is catching up ..."

... it is. However, that would be "news" to a number of our fellow "travelers" inside this "virtual world," who are on the front lines dealing with the reality of how China maintains its grip on power over its people.

They are of Chinese ancestry and they are very passionate about what they face, for their future. Have you ever heard of its "Social Credit System" and the technology being deployed to enforce it?

America, to be sure, has its own problems. But, at least so far (stay tuned for "coming attractions" in the "post COVID" world!), nothing like what is being experienced in China ...

If you mean this: Social Credit System it seems fine as intended as described by no other than the Washington Post!

I see that there's a huge distrust with everything Chinese, especially on Hive, maybe it has to do with Justin and what he's doing in Steemit, I hope that's not the case as if it is then we should hang every US citizen out dry for the works of some very bad ones, plus what their government does.

However, out of 1.4 or more billion people living in one country, it's very natural to see millions who would disagree, and a considerable number of those turn into activists, especially when pushed to do that by free money printing governments and strong media. I'm not defending China or the Chinese government but can you tell how much is the percentage of dissidents they have with respect to their population? Is it less or more what is there in western countries? Don't forget to add the culture and traditions where respect is a fundamental matter which doesn't exist in the west. You won't see a Chinese opposition paper drawing cartoons mocking their leader, similarly in many Eastern civilizations.

As a Syrian, I never thought I'll see Syrians who would call on NATO to bomb their country so they can get rid of their government and be replaced by some unknown other puppets, they'll be puppets for those who installed them in power, there's no doubt about that. But the current crisis showed there are such people even in Syria, you know what the Syrian societies did to those? Their own relatives considered them outcasts. We don't tolerate treason in my country, and I'm talking about the vast majority of the people. How do you think we were able to stand up all these years? By the help of Russia and Iran? Iran started helping in very shy manner end of 2013, and Russia end of 2015, also in a shy manner. Our army was fighting over 40 open fronts a day continuously since March 2011, the poeple refused to sell their honor, there is not a single Syrian army battalion that defected despite the massive amounts of bribery offered. There were individuals who were immediately shamed and replaced. We don't have a single working diplomat who defected, does this tell you anything?

You need to look at the world with the eyes of the people of those countries not with your own and definitely not what the western mainstream media tell, they always lie.

So how many Chinese are dissidents and how many of them are residing in Western countries and opposing their government from there?

Right @arabisouri ...

"... as described by no other than the Washington Post!"

... as though reference to the Washington Post is going to help you make a point with me. You are either unaware of what the Washington Post represents or you have chosen to ignore it.

For your benefit, as well as for those who may choose to read this exchange, I have extracted a pertinent portion of the reference I provided:

"... while critics of the system claim that it oversteps the rule of law and infringes the legal rights of residents and organizations ..."

The rule of law. Legal rights of citizens. Foundational issues to an American. I make no claim to knowing how these are viewed in Syria.

As you appear to be a champion for "the cause" of the Chinese government, would you favor Assad implementing a "social credit system" in Syria?

Before asking me this question and accusing me of being the 'champion for the cause of the Chinese government', which I have no clue how you made that up especially that I did explicitly state "I'm not defending China or the Chinese government," let me ask you: Why are you silent while the Donald Trump administration is applying that same and even worse 'social credit system' with some not better deviations: mass surveillance, drone bombing US citizens (yes in case you didn't hear of that google this which I just did 'US drone bombed a US citizen', and health-based segregating people after months of deliberately ignoring the WHO and Chinese warnings of the pandemic then taking extraordinary measures to enforce vaccinations from a certain provider...

Do I need to go on? There are dozens of examples I can list here of things more horrific you're allowing your government to do on you and your fellow citizens and the rest of the world's citizens.

Assad, fyi, introduced a law that was passed with the approval of the vast majority of the Parliament banning GMOs 8 years ago, once your government does the same we'll talk about the hypothetical plans of what Assad's government might allow on its people in the future and what will be our opinion on that if it ever happens.
