Venice in India.

Interiors have so much power to transform the experience of a place altogether!
I had to travel along with my friends regarding some work to Noida today so we also visited Venice mall which is famous for it's interiors.
This Italian themed mall was made back in 2015 and is still running. It depicts a classic Venetian style Architecture which is usually found in Venice, italy.

One can easily spot the classic Venetian style of mouldings, the vibrant colours, the Arches and columns. Even the flooring had that classic pattern. Before jumping into what next we saw there, let me bring a little knowledge about this style of architecture into some limelight.
Basically this style is mixture of other two styles namely Byzantine and Gothic also there used to be the front elevation which was responsible for most of the light source which caused the construction of open arches and plenty of windows in front elevation making it a recognising element. Rest there are plenty of details but considering it a fun blog instead of a college lecture I would like to continue forward with what interesting elements we spotted there.

That's the gondola ride. This is a depiction of river and this water body runs around the mall with wonderful boating and the sailors dressed very well actually they are the staff. This ride costs around 400 INR or I might say 5.4 USD per person and it was amazing, we didn't went on boat but people there were enjoying. From balusters to columns all were made according to the theme.

Can you spot how far the water flows through this curved alley? It's wonderfully built but it was disheartening to witness very less footfall. Even though it owns such a nicely done interiors and spread across 947,000 square feet (the exact figure is through google)
It still isn't completely occupied by the shops. It is very noticeable that how a location can effect the value of a place. Trust me if this mall was built in Delhi or Gurgaon (basically high tech cities) then the footfall and craze of the mall must be on another level.
I have witness very basic malls becoming very successful in no time due to prominent location. Noida on other hand is still developing so it is very clear why the mall is undergoing financial crises.

5.jpg

The empty alleys is all we could see at this corner of the mall Even though how amazing is the façade of baloneys of each floor and that little tableau for some kiosk I guess, which is so cool but again empty.

6.jpg

This place was little vibrant due to couple of restaurants and not to forget about the food court on the topmost floor, that was occupied more than the rest of the mall. It was overall a very beautiful effort towards bringing a unique style of interior and architecture through this mall but the success depends upon users and the location didn't helped out in that scenario. since Noida is growing rapidly so hopefully this mall will get it's deserved appreciation and usability.

Above mentioned pictures belongs to me.

Themed mall designs I have noticed are excellent for Food and Beverage areas especially when they are integrated around the waterfront with alfresco possibilities.

We have a similar Venetian-inspired mall called Venice Grand Canal Mall in Taguig. As much as it is a beautiful mall, it is a challenge for wayfinding and ease of shopping. Getting to the other side of the canal is a challenge, circulating through a giant maze. It's great for a leisurely stroll, however.

I agree it's all about the location and the type of shops present in the malls that bring foot traffic.

That's true it's all good for leisurely stroll and indeed location plays a huge role. The more huge the all is the harder it is to shop all around. cafes and restaurants only works well in such a place.
Have a wonderful weekend :)

I have been to Noida so many times but never had the opportunity to visit Venice. The pictures and the description of the mall now makes me really curious to go to this mall
