Fairphone started out as a project that aimed to minimize all the ugly things going in the smartphone space in regards to supply chain, manufacturing and design choices. The project proved the pint how expensive and lacking in features it would be to create a more ethical mobile device.
Fairphone 4 is now out and it is a real usable phone with features compared to a mid range device yet with a much higher price tag.
I liked what they were doing, but now it seems they are going in a direction that is similar to OnePlus. At this rate Sony seems to be the best option that is truly catering to enthusiasts without large compromises.
