Permanent employment - Pros & Cons

In last blog we saw the pros and cons of freelancing. Permanent nature of work is the ideal job preference that one has. It gives a lot of employment benefits like security, ESOPs, promotions, post-retirement benefits, etc.

Benefits of working in an office:

Stability: One of the main benefits of working in an office is the stability it offers. As an employee, you have a set schedule and job security, which can be especially appealing if you value predictability and stability.

Benefits: Working in an office also typically offers access to benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Social interaction: Working in an office can also provide opportunities for social interaction and teamwork, which can be beneficial for some people.

Drawbacks of working in an office:

Lack of flexibility: One of the main drawbacks of working in an office is the lack of flexibility it offers. You are typically expected to work a set schedule, and it can be difficult to make changes to your schedule or work remotely.

Limited control: As an employee, you also have less control over the work you do and the projects you take on. You are expected to follow the rules and policies of the company, and you may not have as much say in the direction of your work.

Routine/Monotonous Activities: Job tasks are pre-determined which one needs to do. After years of permanent employee, one can naturally feel mental burnouts, or apetite of changing over to different roles and activities. Freelancing gives flexibility where as permanent nature is pretty rigid and has low scope to offer different from what one will be doing.

Ultimately, the decision between freelancing and working in an office will depend on your personal preferences and priorities. If you value flexibility and control, freelancing may be the right choice for you. If you value stability and benefits, working in an office may be a better fit. It's important to carefully consider the pros and cons of each option and choose the one that is best for you.
