Does Megapixels Matter in a Smartphone?

When it came to Smartphones MEGAPIXELS is something that was always considered to be a key factor when buying a Smartphone. The Larger the MEGAPIXELS the Higher the resolution of the Photos clicked and the Quality was large too. But that has changed from Time to Time when we saw Software playing a key role in how a Picture is portrayed to our Eyes.
Even though it was known to a lot of tech enthusiasts that MEGAPIXELS in a Smartphone Camera do not matter as much as we think it does but that was not hugely known to the General Public. But this year something happened that changed the whole dynamics of how the General Public views the necessity of Huge MEGAPIXELS in a Smartphone.

It was the Marques Brownlee Blind Camera Testing

At the end of last year, Marques Brownlee who is a well-renowned Tech Youtuber did Blind Camera Testing for a lot of Smartphones. The test included tests like Side By Side comparisons with both Main Lens, Wide Angle as well as Night Mode, and even though the Smartphone Lineup had iPhones, Samsungs latest Flagship, and Xiaomi's 200 Megapixel Cameras but the winner came out to be Pixel 6A which only had 12 MEGAPIXELS. The votes were all cast by users and after 20 Million Votes the winner was a 12 Megapixel Camera.

So yeah this really was a huge eye-opener for the General Public that MEGAPIXELS even though are good to have is not an absolute necessity in taking a Good Smartphone Picture.
