Again and again, if I am asked which invention I would like to bring into existence if I had the power, I would say human teleportation. This is one thing I almost believed was real and even went into searches to be sure, and I was heartbroken to discover that it is only a fictional act in movies and does not exist. The movie world has made many fictional characters and lifestyles appear very real, and human teleportation is one of them for me.

Why human teleportation?

In my African land, human teleportation already exists but in a different dimension that is referred to as witchcraft — yes, spiritual witchcraft — and this means only people who are into supernatural power can appear and disappear. Technological human teleportation would operate in a similar format but in a different style that does not involve witchcraft.

Human teleportation is simply appearing and disappearing in a technological way, either through phone calls or by using a device. Imagine a situation whereby you are on the phone with a loved one in a distant land and there is a means by which you can disappear through the phone call and appear on the spot where the person is. Would you not love to experience that? I would love it; I have imagined and wished such a thing existed.

By human teleportation I mean the transportation of the whole body to the spot one wants to be at that moment, not just the transportation of voice as we have with phone calls. In fact, if human teleportation existed, the reasons for making phone calls would be reduced because we could travel by appearing and disappearing to meet anyone we wanted to talk with instead. I do not know how the world will look if that technology finally becomes a reality, because there would be massive travel of people from one country to another without the use of flights or other existing means of transportation, and there would be no need to seek visas for travel because we could simply travel unseen through the air and cross countries’ borders without security becoming aware. Lol.

I have also admired the African form of human teleportation, which is witchcraft, but the fear of that thing scares me a lot because of the repercussions I have heard about. Still, if they could reasonably liaise with me, I think we could bring human teleportation into reality by using some of their spiritual ideas and translating them into technological methods. I keep hoping that one day such a thing will be invented.
