Information and communication technology can play an important role in eliminating inequality in education. With the help of information technology, students in remote areas will also be able to get quality education.

It is important to ensure good and fruitful education for all. A well-educated person can use his talent to play an important role in the socio-economic development of the country. Realizing the importance of this, the Government of Bangladesh has continued its efforts to continue education activities in alternative ways even in the current crisis situation. The government has launched a distance education program during the general holidays to address the overall damage to the education sector in the Covid situation. This initiative is very much effective to students but it has some challenges to provide online education. I think all less development countries in all over the world is facing similar challenges right now.

From the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, all schools in Bangladesh were declared closed to maintain social distance. As a result, the normal educational activities of millions of students are disrupted. In this unfavorable situation, many schools in the country have already resumed their educational activities through distance learning.

Challenges:

The following three issues is very much relating to online education.

  1. Computer education must be mandatory at various levels of education for students to use information technology and acquire knowledge in this regard.
  2. All Textbooks are should be available online And
  3. Uninterrupted internet connection is vital in educational institutions and students’ home across the country.

Otherwise, most of the students lack suitable devices for conducting online education. Besides, in the current situation, it is a burden for many families to spend on the Internet. Therefore, all students need to be provided with suitable device and internet connectivity facilities. Notably, there is also a lack of digital content required for students to learn. In addition, digital knowledge and skills of teachers is also mandatory.

The problem that has arisen in the overall education activities in all over the world. Bangladesh has been tried to decrease some gap in education sector through online education. But this country is facing some challenges like internet facilities, lack of available digital contents and technical knowledge of teachers. To implement this, students need to be provided with appropriate devices, digital content and connectivity. In order to achieve this goal, every student has equal opportunity and also ensure that no one is left out of the education process.
