Samsung Makes It Easier To Buy Bitcoins on Its Phones

The acceptance of cryptocurrency has been on the rise in recent years. The digital asset works as a medium of exchange. As the digital currency has no physical form, no central authority issues it. Although some people argue the legitimacy of this "virtual money", most people are investing in the currencies that grow in value over time. The arguments are based on the lack of regulation on the cryptocurrency which makes it a good avenue to evade taxes and launder money.
Many tech companies including Samsung have joined in the exploration of this new market. The company has recently announced its partnership with Gemini which is a big cryptocurrency exchange and custodian company, to facilitate cryptocurrency purchase by its users in Canada and the USA. These transactions would be made through their mobile devices. The BlockChain wallet run by Samsung has the Gemini mobile app integrated into it, making it possible for the Samsung users to exchange cryptocurrencies easily. Thus, using the Samsung Blockchain wallet application, one can view his account balances on Gemini and also able to move their digital money into cold storage via the custody feature of Gemini.
The two applications–Gemini mobile app and Samsung Blockchain Wallet–can be downloaded from the Samsung Galaxy store. The Gemini app, however, is still available on the Google Play Store. Nevertheless, only a few Samsung devices have access to the apps. These include the Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Z flip, Galaxy Note10 series, and the Galaxy S20 series. The devices purchased through Verizon are, however, not included. The Galaxy S10 series were the first devices on which the Blockchain Wallet was launched. This allowed the exchange and storage of cryptocurrencies, and even the use of cryptocurrency-based dApps (decentralized apps).
Gemini users can buy, sell, and store their cryptocurrencies securely. The app supports about 20 cryptocurrencies including the expensive Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash. The integration into the Samsung Blockchain would make Gemini the very first digital currency exchange platform to enter a partnership with Samsung. "Crypto is not just a technology, it is a movement," says Gemini's CEO Tyler Winklevoss, confirming the partnership.
Gemini users can sell, buy, and trade cryptocurrency on the app itself. But the incorporation into Samsung's Blockchain makes the latter app an all-purpose app in the world of cryptocurrency trading.
